Nissan P12 heater just blowing hot air

   When I turn A/C off, the fan is blowing hot air although I set the temperature dial to the lowest setting (i.e just to get fresh air from outside). When I turn A/C on then it starts to blow cool air. Any idea what could be causing this, I assume there are some vents/doors in the heating unit that don't turn to right position? I can see from the service manual that there are at least two motors in the heater,  but no idea which one to suspect and how to trouble shoot?

	It could be the Air Mix Door. This mixes the Hot and Cold Air based on the current Temp in the Cabin and what you have the Temp set to. Does it get hotter if you turn the Temp up? If it does then the Air Mix Door is probably working OK Why not just leave the A/C on at all times? Minimal impact on Fuel Economy.

	If you don’t have the ac on them the coolest temp you are going to get is the outside air temp plus any heat en-route to the intake through to cabin. When you have ac on can you vary the temp?
