OK the car will run rich, could it cause any problems if i try it for a short drive? 10min?

Thanks for the tip about MAF voltage, didn't know this was a possibility.

OK so here's an update...

I started the engine, then while it was running, i disconnected the MAF. At that point i expected the engine to shut down but what happened was exactly NOTHING. Not a single "wrong" sound or whatever.

Then i shut down the engine and started her up again without the MAF, and it was normal, no difference whatsoever.

Then i took her for a drive, two drives to be exact. Each one lasting about 10min with 3h inbetween. The engine performed exactly the same. No noticable difference.

So my question now is...wtf? :) Either the engine doesn't need the MAF or mine was so bad that it doesn't even make a difference with or without it.

By the way, while test driving i tried to simulate the conditions where the engine would normally cutoff. This didn't happen. So i want to keep testing it. Is it ok to drive without a MAF for a few days? Shorter trips. Seems i've been doing that for years anyway...

OK so, an update...

Went for a drive today without the MAF and i this time i managed to force the engine to shutdown, simulating the conditions.

So now i'm confused. It might be that my MAF is not working so that's causing the issue because essentially it's like i'm driving without one. OR it might be that my MAF is ok and that the issue is something else since i ruled out the MAF by disconnecting it...

Thoughts?

Before you disconnected the maf,did it always stall or just sometimes? If it was always then the maf is bad(as it didn't stall first time out)If it was only sometimes then we are no nearer to the fault.

It's never always. Sometimes. So yes, we're not nearer. All i can do now is try a new MAF and hope for the best.

Got the MAF for around 13 pounds :) It was actually a perfect fit, no need for rewiring. Now we'll see in couple of days if it has any effect. As of now i did not perceive any noticeable difference in a 15min drive, and there was no shutdowns but the engine was hot so we'll see...

Well no luck :( Same issue occured this morning. So i can rule out MAF.

I also changed the pedal which has an electronic position reading. Not sure how to explain better. About a year ago someone suggested to me that it might be the issue but nope...

So what am i left with? What else can i change? Other than the Bosch pump.
