there is an option for main screen (not just satnav) to have different language,

you need to do it via the "set" options, off top of head i can;t remember which it is once in that menu set.

Yes it does depend on if it has english installed or not. Should do though as it seems to be the worlds second language.

The Jap DVD drive is different to the euro one.
It is possible but the DVD drive needs reprogramming at chip level.

That kinda doesn't help. That thread has nothing in it but the Russian link and a link to another thread that died.

There are no Jap import P12s in the UK as far as I am aware, so we don't have this problem.
Try posting on the NZ site. There are owners living with the Jap screens.

There are plenty in Russia, so someone came up with a solution.
This can be adapted to English as they did for the Skylines in Aus. This conversion was done by the Russian company.

Which thread died? Posts on NZ and Skyline sites in the last week.

Agreed with above, your user-name suggests you live in New Zealand (lucky You) and you have an import. We have had posts on here before asking the same question and i don't think it was possible. But try the Primera web site where you are.

I have a similar issue too.  My Nissan Primera P12 2002 model wagon has only two languages that I can choose from i.e. Dutch and French.  Ive tried to change the language with no success.  Is there a way I can get the Setup CD with which I can re-install the display language to include English Language?  I am in Lagos Nigeria and would appreciate any help rendered.

Welcome to NPOC,

Pretty sure you can download it from GPS underground. You will need to register to be able to see the content.

The Maps are Europe only. No point downloading the Map DVD.

It doesn't matter whether it's UK map so long as it will change the display language to English. I need to change the language to English not only because of the navigation but also for the car functions majorly the settings, Air Conditioning system, self diagnosing etc.

Thanks for your support and response

unless you change the complete unit, you can't change Language, other than the choices given for where the car was originally meant for.... this is the case for cars coming from Japan...

if your's is from Europe, you might have some hope...but not sure if it can be done.

I am guessing as he has a French/Dutch setup CD that the Car is from France or Holland.
If it is Japanese, then no the Language cannot be changed.

Sounds like the euroversion. Think you get the picture now, you need the English set up disc, you might be lucky off gps underground but that is all but finished as fa as Primeras are concerned, eBay would be the best bet

Greetings. I've tried checking gpsunderground to see if I can get the setup file. Unfortunately I couldn't have access to the website even after I have registered. Perhaps it has to do with my region (West Africa).
Anyway, many thanks.
