Congratulations for October 2012 go to...................

ALL THE NPOC GUYS AND GALS (and their guests) who represented on the NPOC stand at JAE 2012!

In this special Feature Of The Month (to replace our traditional COTM), we'll try bloody hard to look back and take it all in (again), as we review the club cars, club members, club activities and well... Just review it all! This feature is purely one dedicated to the NPOC and what we did at JAE!

Anyways.. WELL DONE to all of you who were there, you did the Club proud! You'll see photos of the NPOC cars splattered all over the place in here.. They looked amazing!

The Intro:

JAE (Japanese Auto Extravaganza) is a long standing Jap car meet and over the years has grown from what was originally a weekend get together for some Old Skool Datsuns, to the biggest annual Jap car meet outside of Japan!!

The whole event runs from Thursday through to Sunday (September).

What you'll find at JAE is the UK's finest Jap Car Clubs (and some from Europe too), their members chilling out and a few thousand serious Jap cars!

We have a massive club stand at JAE and we all camp directly it and socialise on it for the whole event.. We lovingly call it the "NPOC Village"! We had around 40 club cars on display and our numbers (members and guests) totalled around 60!

Thursday:

The Staff Team were on site a day earlier than the rest. This was to make sure everything was OK with our plot, erect the gazeebo and decide how we would set up the stand for the weekend. It's a surreal lonely place at JAE on the Thursday!

Friday:

The other members who arrived throughout Friday, started washing and waxing their cars, spending hours detailing and bringing them up to an incredible standard for viewing.

Friday night was spent chilling out in the NPOC village but this year with an added bonus! The Club Owners dug deep into club funds and gave the nod for a hot dog night (as a freebie), for all who were there. This went down a treat!

Saturday:

This is pretty much the "all systems go" day! The public roll in through the gates to check out the cars and the clubs lock horns and continue the sporting battles. I'll cover all of this in more detail below. But for now, let's look at the members cars on display and doing the club proud on Saturday!!

We also hold our own annual car judging competition (with some awesome club trophies to be bagged) on the Saturday on the NPOC stand, the cars were absolutely stunning!! It was constantly mentioned that judging and voting was just soooooooo hard, because the cars were so evenly matched.

The NPOC Sporting Teams:

We entered teams and individuals into most events at JAE and before we cover any of that.. MAHOOSIVE RESPECT to all of you who represented the club here.. AND a big shout out to all of the remaining members, who supported from the sidelines too!

We had some success in the It's A Knockout Competition again this year.

"dyp" defended his JAE title in the Gladiator Jousting and brought home the 1st place trophy for the 3rd year running!

"Gemz" and "Ollierockk" paired up to win the Relay Race too!

Here's some action shots featuring our members taking part:

NPOC Quiz - Back for the 3rd year running, we decided to run an official NPOC Quiz again on Saturday for 2012! Teams of 4 or less were formed and 20 questions were asked... The previous 2 years the quiz had been won by the North East (and Peetee) based team, could  they win it for a 3rd straight year..?? Well in short no LOL! The trophy has come to the South Coast and was won by Team "Dypshidiots".. Who were, "Dyp", "Gemz" and "L_Wylde" - Well done to all who took part and well done to the winners.

NPOC Show N Shine Awards:

This is our own club competition and EVERY member who has a car on the stand could win a trophy. What makes this a special event is that the judging is done by the members. Anyone who won anything can be happy that they won it, due to the admiration and respect of their fellow members.

The votes were counted up and shortly after the club BBQ in the early evening, the NPOC awards ceremony took place.

The trophies were presented as always by "essNchill" and here's the categories and your winnersClap Here's the trophies ready to go:

Best P10 and winner of the trophy was: "Tom-P10"

Best P11 and winner of the trophy was: "essNchill"

Best P11-144 and winner of the trophy was: "FriedGold"

Sadly - There was no P12 trophy up for grabs this year (no cars to vote for etc).

Best OE / Standard Spec and winner of the trophy was: "trigg51"

&

Best Show & Shine and winner of the trophy was: "trigg51"

Best Primera on stand and winner of the trophy was: "essNchill"

Runner Up and also receiving a trophy was: "P12DMR"

A big well done to all of youBow Down

The winners of the "NPOC Quiz", also stepped up to receive their trophy as well (minus one camera shy member!):

We also had members come out and join us for the weekender, who no longer own a Nissan Primera (or there Primera was off the road).. But still remain part of the family!! Here's a look at their cars:

Saturday night was (as is tradition) PARTY NIGHT in the NPOC Village!! Once we had got the BBQ out of the way and the trophy presentations out of the way, it was time to demolish the massive amount of drink!! All of the drink was paid for under the catering option we provide and we didn't run out.

Our members who took part in the "It's A Knockout" inter club events, also went to the JAE Admin tent to collect their trophies - AWESOME!

Between the excellent fireworks display (put on by the event organisers) and the brilliant and friendly chat amongst friends, the drinking continued into the early hours as Saturday night became Sunday morning..

Sunday:

The last day of JAE for us all! It's always a sad one, as we all know JAE is ending and we're gonna be packing away the tents and loading the cars up and then having to wait another whole year. We get the morning started off well, with bacon butties and fresh juice for all.. Then it's just a matter of time until the clear up starts. Some left early to avoid the traffic, others stayed as long into the day as they could.

The food, beer and fun:

Every year we do a catering option for the members and we keep it cheap too! £10 of your finest gold coins bought you: Unlimited tea / coffee for the whole event, as much beer / wine / coke as you could drink on Saturday night and a BBQ. Still hungry on Sunday morning? Well we also made you all bacon rolls as well! £10 bargain and if you were an Elite Member, well that was a freebie for you.

"essNchill" as always took on the yearly task of sourcing the catering for the club as always and were assisted by many members. Special thanks to all the members who helped cook, carry the supplies and clean up - Thank you!

So let's take a look at the chilling / drinking and just having fun and some selective car and group shots, I'll also close this feature with some quotes and feedback directly from you guys and gals who were there..

"dopeygti" wrote: First JAE and already next year is too far away. "peetee" wrote: Couldn't have asked for better weather! Thanks as usual to the Club Owners for arranging the stand and to the assistants who helped with the cooking and cleaning up ,same peeps as usual doing this. "shurv" wrote: Thanks as always to the Club Owners for organising such an awesome weekend and to all those who helped out. Well done to all those who won car trophies, all well deserved! It was hard to vote as they all look so sweet. It was my 1st JAE and I loved every minute of it, hopefully next year be in the GT. Thanks to all those who came and said hello to Gemma, she was made to really feel at home!

"shade" wrote: Was a cracking weekend!! Myself and Josh loved every minute. Roll on next year!

"barrakuda" wrote: Totally amazing weekend! Becoming a JAE regular now & I swear they get better year in & year out. Massive thanks to the Club Owners for the organisation, a mammoth task, which is thoroughly appreciated and really helps to make the weekend. Congrats to all who won prizes, the cars on site were so well presented, it was certainly difficult to choose a favourite from each group. I always feel a sort of exhilarated blues at the end of this weekend, ROLL ON NEXT YEAR! If you've not been before, get to this show next year, you won't look back!! NPOC FTW!

"P12DMR" wrote: Excellent weekend yet again! Weather was awesome the members were as friendly as ever, cars were looking great and the drink ran freely. Thanks to all the people involved in the BBQ'S, ESPECIALLY the chefs and the girls working behind the scenes. Thanks Club Owners and organisers for putting this on again. Guess what I got best in show runner up too what a weekend!!

So thanks to the NPOC Staff. Laura and I had another cracking year at JAE and can't wait to come back next year, we decided to bring my dog along this year to which everyone at NPOC was so welcoming to him which I thank you all forGemz (Alcho-Box) and I entered the Relay Race.... WHICH WE WON!! Anyway so I just wanted to thank everyone for watching out for Chevie, entertaining me and Laura and just for having us really. We both love NPOC and will always be at this show and with the club, so hats off to everyone that made this weekend the best of the year!

"roy.2" wrote: An epic weekender is all you can say. The weather was on our side. Red hot through the day and fooking freezing at night LOL! Thanks to Shaun, G and Ade for organising JAE for us all. A big up to the cooking guys and girls. Well done to everyone who made it this year.

"Jano" wrote: Thanks guys for yet another fantastic and epic weekend! Despite some "issues" at NCN we really had a blast! Met some new NPOCers and just had a blast! Thanks for all, and I can't wait till next year!!!

"Torby" wrote: Thanks all for a great weekend! Totto and I have just arrived back home, after one very long drive back! But it was absolutely worth it! It was very nice to finally meet you guys, so many nice people in this club, and not to mention the cars! Huge thanks for having us over as guests, for the food, drinks and hospitality!

"Tom-P10" wrote: Well what can I say other than yet another awesome JAE! There was only one downside - it went by far too quickly and I didn't get chance to speak to everyone as much as I would have liked! Was great to see everyone and meet some new people!  Big respect to all the Dutch and Norwegian guys for making it over - nice to see you all and meet some new people. Cant help but admire the miles you guys covered! As usual the staff team plus others made the weekend what it is by organising, cooking, tidying, setting up and generally making it perfect so we thank you all for that! The cars were all looking great and a credit to NPOC and we continue to show JAE that we are a big force to be reckoned with despite the slightly lower numbers this year. Finally and most importantly for me, I'd like to thank anyone who voted for me as it was a great honour to win the best P10 trophy! I apologise for my rubbish speech, it hit me for six a bit to be awarded this and made me so proud and happy! Absolutely chuffed to bits! Thanks again to everyone and roll on the next meet so I can see all you awesome people again!

"Gemz" wrote: JAE this year has been my best, not only blessed with the weather but with great company. Thank you to the NPOC owners for sorting this event. I really enjoy getting stuck in and helping where I can, as I don't have a pretty car on the stand. I couldn't imagine any other car club being so welcoming. So thanks to the main guys, thanks to the regulars (you rocked it again), the newbies (welcome), the Dutchies (and for my baked goods), and Torby and Totto (reindeer is lush... Potato juice not so LOL), for making my JAE what it was. I can't wait to see you all again next year, plus those who didn't make it. NPOC love to you ALL xxxxxx

"prim-n-proper" wrote: Already looking forward to next year! It was an awesome weekend as usual, with fantastic cars and fantastic people. The quality of the cars never ceases to amaze me, they just get better year after year. Many thanks to everyone who put up with me again and a special thanks to the Club Owners, who yet again pulled out all the stops to ensure a great time was had by all, thanks guys.

"twelve" wrote: It's a shame we were down on numbers but I think the past 12 months have been tough for a lot of people, you were missed. I want to say a huge thanks to everyone that turned up and everyone that helped with the cooking, setup and tidying up in any way possible. The standard of the cars this year was outstanding, don't think I've had a tougher time voting ever. Thanks to the NCN for providing a lot of entertainment and laughter. It's a shame some of your group didn't want to involve themselves but maybe next year will be different. I want to say a special thanks to everyone that made Matt feel welcome, even if he did sleep in his tent for most of Saturday only getting up to have a whinge and watch the fireworks and then going back again. JAE gets better every year, this was no exception!

"Geordie" wrote: We all know numbers were down this year, which I guess can be easily explained by the financial hardships more and more people are facing at the present time. The guys who couldn't come were missed, but it has to be said that Cam and I both agreed that the atmosphere on the stand was the best I have known. A massive thanks to the organising team as usual. What a job they do. Another thanks go to the cooking and clearing away teams. Again, a fantastic effort to keep the gang happy. I reckon I'll have to do my share next year. It's about time. It was great to see the usual faces, and meet some new ones too. Always a pleasure to hang out with the NPOC gang. Thanks to all who took the time to talk with Cameron. I know it might be difficult to understand him at times, what with his silly Northern accent and the added fact that his bollocks have recently dropped, so a big thanks from me to all. A big well done to the guys from NCN, and to Torbs & Totto for making the even longer trip from Norway. The standard of the cars on the stand was quite remarkable, and the voting just gets harder every year. Well done to all the award winners. Every one fully deserved. Roll on Ace at Xmas and 2013 and more big meets like this. NPOC Rocks!!

"Dad's Taxi" wrote: It was as everyone has said, one amazing weekend. The NPOC is as Shaun said in one of the "become a member" sale's pitch's: "A gathering of friends and family first, a car club second." This was my first JAE and I was welcomed and made to feel like every other regular. I cannot say thank you enough for that. And the food and entertainment, just amazing. I look forward to ACE, and many more meet's to come. NPOC Rules!

"Sluffer" wrote: I would like to say a huge thanks to the club owners Shaun, G & Ade for organising another fantastic JAE, just gets better and better, the hardwork you guys put in to ensure all of us are happy and have such a memorable weekend is 2nd to none. Also huge thanks to the set up crew, the cleaning crew, and all those that helped out with the cooking and food prep over the 3 days the hard work you put in all helps us have a wonderful weekend. Thankyou to all you members, friends & families that came and made it such an enjoyable weekend, although we were down on numbers compared to last year, you all more than made up for it.  It's the one time of the year I really look forward too and miss the most once it's been and gone. Nice cars, nice company, nice food and nice weather all rolled into one little neat package that was JAE, utterly fantastic!

"ragt20" wrote: Another awesome JAE had by NPOC and even the low numbers not affecting the enjoyment of those of us who made it. Great to meet up and have a cracking weekend with all the people who've come previously from NPOC and NCN, and meeting up with a lot of new guys and hopefully who we will see more of in future JAE. Plenty of the regulars to previous JAE's were missed, and hopefully you can make the next one. As usual the standard of cars there was top notch, and congrats to all the well deserved winners as well. Bring on JAE 2013 can't wait for it!!

"kitfar" wrote: Once again I had a fantastic weekend with the NPOC family, we are a lovely bunch, that includes the Norgies and the Dutchies! Thank you once again to Shaun, Ade and G for organising and supervising the weekend, you did yourselves and all of us proud gents! Finally roll on 2013!!

"dysopath" wrote: Thank you to all who organised and all who made my first JAE a good one. The catering was superb... Weather was superb, glad I had the caravan at night though!

"Neilistic" wrote: I wanna thank everyone that made Angela's first JAE experience a good one!!We both had a great time at JAE, brillant as usual. To everyone that helped and organized big well done. So much hard work goes into bringing this event off every year, all of you are a credit to NPOC. To Shaun and all the other trophy winners big, big congrats totally deserved, the standard of the cars on stand does get better and better each year.

"essNchill" wrote: A BIGGY BIG BIG thanks from me, to all of you who came and joined us for JAE 2012! It's been mentioned already that the numbers were down from 2011.. Officially in 2011 we had @ around 100 members and guests in total and this year it was half of that! Oddly though (and as I discussed with many at JAE), it didn't feel like we were down on numbers, the stand was filled with awesome cars and awesome members and their guests too!! The feedback from you that were there, was thankfully all good.. So I think we nailed it for you all.

Personally for me, winning Best Nissan Primera on Stand was something I always wanted when I had my Nordic and I've put a lot more hard work in Pinky in the last 2 years, then I ever did with the Nordic, so winning this one was pretty emotional - Thank you all for voting for me to win this one!

A big shout out to everyone who took part in any events on behalf of NPOC and either did or didn't win a trophy, you are all winners in my eyes and thank you for representing the club!

Final thanks to all of the guys and gals, who helped out on the stand.. Allbeit cooking, prepping food, humping stuff to and from the van, picking up crap on the stand and so on.. So many of you were always prepared to get out of ya chairs and help out and I was repeatedly asked if I needed a hand with this or that.. Thank you so much.

So JAE 2012 summary... *A*W*E*S*O*M*E* and that was entirely thanks to all of you who were there - Thank you.

JAE 2013 is less than a year away LOL... Get planning and preparing for it already!

Congratulations once again to the members of NPOC!
