hello all! done the oil change today on my egt and like a total tit ive managed to put 1ltr too much in%20...%20Shift+R%20improves%20the%20quality%20of%20this%20image.%20CTRL+F5%20reloads%20the%20whole%20page.! will this damage the engine if i leave it all in??

Yes this will mess it up, it's just as bad as having not enough oil in, get it drained mate ASAP.

Just drop it out, at the most youll start burning it and puffing smoke out the arse end .

just been out and drained it! its spot on now! most of the oil is up my sleeve now and all over the street!! lol!

Had a Nova once (many moons ago), didn't know much about cars then, had Kwik Fit, do an oil change as i was driving to germany, the week after, they put too much oil in, when i got there a few days later the Head Gasket was pissing with oil, had to scrap it after that Disapprove

I have about an extra half inch on my dipstick and that causes no problems but a whole litre is rather alot.

doh....what ya could have done instead of having to drain it all, if ya know a friendly local garage, you could have got em to suck some of it out....save the hassle of draining it..

aye the main cause of destruction by overfill of oil is any weak seals etc will start leaking oil etc...in some cases ya may get away with it, but if the seals in a pita place then changing them because even more of a pain
