Hi, I'm realtively new to the npoc but am liking what I've already seen! I'm confused about the sat nav in my 1.8isx 2005 model. It has no dvd in the xanavi dvd under the passenger seat, so the screen comes up with the 'no dvd' message. Most of the dvd's on ebay are navteq, does this mean I can't use them in my xanavi player? Riggsy99 kindly found out my map version code from my chasis no: which is 25920-BA05A which is very close to the map codes I see on navteq discs. Can someone help??

NISSAN(Xanavi) will not develop special units for particular map format/vendor. I know for sure that in all countries around the world (Japan, Europe, USA, Canada and etc.) NISSAN has generally the same format for map disks (DVD based units manufactured by Xanavi). Exceptions only for units produced by another vendors (Matsushita, Clarion, Sanyo) but this exceptions are rare. Most of NISSAN vehicles that equipped with navi units are equipped with Xanavi ones.
Again - despite map source and label on disk (VDO, Zenrin, Navteq, etc) almost all map disks for NISSAN will have pretty same format of data on it. Of course map disk for USA will not work in cars for Japanese or European markets and vice versa, but all of them will have very similar data structures stored on the disk. Regarding statement "the CD I gave ... was a DVD ..." - it is nonsense, because all DVDs for NISSANs I've ever seen was at least 4GB in size. Modern Japanese and USA maps will fit only double layered DVD = ~8GB. Even in compressed state minimal space to fit data from DVD map disk is about 2-2.5GB. |

Hi,
I am new to the nissan primera. I just bought one second hand. Nissan Primera SVE Auto 2002. The problem is that the navigation dvd drive has no disk. I have managed to get a MAP disk with part no 25920 BA020. But the drive indicated disc error when it is used. Do I now need a Program cd as well, and can this be downloaded.
Please help anyone.
Thanks
