All the electric windows in the car work fine, however the left hand side ones don't work whilst using the driver controls?
Any ideas what this could be? I've already tried taking out the switch on the drivers side and looked at the unit - no signs of damage (e.g. burnt components, water damage, etc). What else can I try/look? Thanks, Adrian |

If there is power at the door switches themselves to work the windows on the passenger side, dependant on the drivers door master switch lock being switched off, and the passenger switches work on their own individual doors, then the main drivers door master switch is faulty, there is no other solution other than to have to go through the wiring loom, and it is unlikely that the problem will be here. I had the same problem on an old mondeo I used to have, and when I replaced the master switch, all the windows worked again from it.
You need to either obtain a new driver's switch assembly or find one from a scrap yard. I'd imagine that the Nissan dealers will charge you well over £100 for this switch.

Hahaha.. You have broken away from your other thread I see and started this one.
You ideally want to try swapping the switch with someone else as a test.. it will take a couple of minutes tops.. We have plenty of guys around your neck of the woods, I'm sure one of them would help.
I can tell you that if you have the window open on the P11, it's a shit design as water will drip in and guess where it manages to hit LOL!! I'm a smoker and have my window open a lot, any water always drips in and hits my feckin window switch.
I've also added youe model of Primera to the threa title.. Please please, always try and add that.
Many thanks,

Hmm. Well I suppose there is no harm in trying! It's just I couldn't see any damage when I looked at the switch.. I certainly won't be getting one from Nissan! Haha.
Indeed, It was getting quite big so thought I'd get better answers with a relevant thread title :) Thanks!
Apart from the fact they look stunning |

Just to let you know, it was the switch! Got one from the scrappy and sprayed it with a load of WD40, wacked it in and away I go.

Excellent news! It was pretty much a certainty in your case that it was a faulty switch. Well done on sticking 2 fingers up at Nissan's exobitant prices and getting a switch from the scrappies. I've just saved a bomb by having my kingpin bearings done yesterday - Nissan wanted over £200 for a centre link (and 2 hours labour at £100 an hour) and wouldnt sell the bearings seperately, so I went to a bearing specialist and paid £19 for the bearings and £60 to my local mechanic to fit em.
Nissan Price = £400, Backstreet garage price = £79
Always pays to shop around and only go to Nissan as an absolute last resort as they will rip you off.
