you can fill it up where the speedo drive screws in on top of the gearbox Wink

COTM: AUG 2012 P11 WAGON
LAST EVER COTM: NOV 2013 P10 eGT

Your "other car" might be newer, but it don't make it better than a P chassis.*PNP17*

You need 3.6 litres of 80w90 gear oil in there.

He can't fill it up until it comes out of the hole because he said the bung was to tightWink
 
You can use the plastic speedo drive on the end of the speed drive cable like a dip stick, once it has just covered the plastic gear that will be about right,(use to do it like that on micra's)But ideally the bung hole is the level indicator if you want it 100% right.
