Hi folks. I'm expecting a new thermostat in the post any day. I'm not sure how to fit it or indeed how hard a job it is! can anyone help. I did see a previous post but in another language.
On a happier note i think this website is fantastic and as soon as my wages go in at the end of the month ill be upgrading to a full member. :)

Hey,

I don't think it's too tough to do, although no experience myself. I'm sure someone more useful will be along soon to help,

All the best,

Jim

not very difficult at all.

1. make sure car is cold when doing this.
2. disconnect hose from thermostat housing
3. should be 3 bolts holding down thermostat housing cover down, undo them and remove thermostat housing cover
4. remove old thermostat (basically just lift off) take note at the direction its sitting in
5. clean up all old sealant from thermostat housing cover and body
6. make sure the two contact areas of thermostat housing cover and housing are dry
7. place new thermostat in place
8. apply new sealant to thermostat housing cover and place onto body
9. put the 3 bolts back in
10. reconnect water hose to housing cover, and leave till sealant is cured
11. top up rad with water that would have been lost during removing the hose, bleed the system and away ya go...
