Hi,

Can anyone recommend what gearbox oil I need to use when I replace my broken drive shaft?

I'm using TITAN Gear-Syn 75W-90 oil in my 2.0L P11 gearbox and it's just fine.

Made by Fuchs and available from Foreign Autoparts.

No problems with it at all Smile

Nissan XZ is a semi-sythetic 75w80 oil to spec API GL4.

God knows how much Nissan will charge per litre, but it is available online/mail order for around £11 per litre.
Other brands to the same spec are from £10.00 to £13.00+ per litre, so maybe Nissan XZ isn't that expensive.
If you feel safer with the 'real thing' try this dealer - I haven't dealt with them myself, but if it's cheaper than a Nissan dealership...............

Ive been quoted about 13.67 + vat a litre for the nissan xz at my local dealer.

I wasnt totally sure of the oils properties and need to get the car back on the road so I don't feel ive got much choice but to go there after work today and get it.

Not cheap when you need 3 litres, but hey ho, that's part of the joy of breaking a gearbox I guess!
