There is no code for the AV system that a user can input, this is generally a Nissan dealer only function unless a garage has the specialist equipment. You say orange and black secure screen is the a mono screen? I am not sure how changing the gear box would affect the AV system. You did the right thing disconnecting the battery, shame that did not work.

Hi,
It's the Non Sat Nav version. Primera P12 1.8 Hatchback. I think the garage disconnected the electricals when doing the gearbox and its not been working since. I took it back but they didn't have a clue on how to restore it :-( I've looked high and low for a solution and a litlle reluctant to go to the nearest main Nissan dealership. I had a bad experience with them once charging an absolute fortune for a very minor fix. Never again. Cheers. |

I don't blame you not wanting to go to Nissan stealership, they are not cheap and not always effective. You did not answer the question about mono screen or colour? I think though it may need recoding to the car but this is not an issue commonly encountered, there are other reasons for the is message but it is a little coincidental that this error has been thrown up right after some work. As said earlier the orange secure is confusing for me as it is not one I recognise unless it is a mono screen.

Hi,
Hope someone can help. I have the same issue. Had another gear box fitted and now have orange and black 'secure' message on screen. I have the radio code but don't know how to input it. As soon as I touch any of the controls the screen reverts back to the 'secure' screen. Many thanks. |

Did you manage to resolve the issue between the last time you posed this issue and now? is your car a Japanese import?. The euro models do not have codes. some questions above remain unanswered

Hi,
No it's not an import p12 02 reg 1.8 hatchback. Non Sat nav version with just the CD player. I have the 4 pin code in the owners manual but just not sure how to enter it. |

Ok, thanks. I'll try disconnecting the battery again and see if that resets the system. If not I can live with it, have done for some time now. Thanks again.

According to the Service Manual, the 4 digit Code is the Immobiliser Pin.
Needed when Nissan reset the Radio to go into another Car. No use to you but an explanation. Some people have fitted After Market Radios into the hole below the Radio. It is not straightforward but is possible. |
