The LCD screen on the radio of my recently purchased 2000 Primera is knackered.
From searching the forum I've found that even a replacement radio won't work as they are security coded to the ECU of each individual car. I would like to install a new headunit like this one from Philips http://www.philips.co.uk/c/car-entertainment-systems/carstudio-dock-for-android-phone-cmd305a_05/prd/ However, looking at the shape of the OE headunit and, the fact the hazard light switch is included in that section of dash, how would I go about fitting the replacment headunit? The Philips HU is available on the Halfords website which says it should fit my car. I can't see how though Any help? Thanks. |

Hi, you will require a facia adaptor. These are available on eBay but will cost you a fair bit. You will then need to get the hazard switch. This will then allow you to fit any standard after market stereo. Got admit, was always the first modification on each of my 144's.

Do you have a link for the facia? Did a quick search on eBay and it only gave 1 result for a 1999 LHD Primera facia. Is it possible just to replace the LCD? Although, I would really like that Philips headunit. |

Welcome to NPOC,
If you search ebay for Primera Fascia, you will find a kit that includes the cable and aerial adapters. There is also one with the hazard switch but is quite pricey. By the way, you have a P11-144 (1999-2002). P11 (1996-1999) has quite a lot of differences The hazard switch from a P11 will plug in. You may need to trim some locating fins off but the wiring is the same. |

Thanks imckay. So I just need to pull a hazard switch from a P11 and it will plug straight into the existing hazard switch socket? |

Yes. Sometimes they plug straight in. Sometimes you need to trim the locating fins off of the plug or socket. |
