My Primera 2.0 cvt 2002 ran and started just fine for the last week. However, the last 2-4 days the idle just after cold start was slightly uneven. Today it wouldn't start at all (. I experienced the same a couple of weeks ago, where i cleaned the plugs with a handheld gas torch. Did the same thing today and it started after some struggle. It seems to be aggrevated by short distance driving (8,5km to work) as it seems to run smoother after long drives, though i cant be sure of this yet. Suggestions are greatly appreciatd.

Overfueling from cold maybe.Could be a faulty coolant temp sensor.

What other symptoms would go along with faulty coolant temp sensor? The coolant reaches normal operating temperature rather quickly and it seems stable when I've been driving. |

Rough idle possibly.
Running rich/lean at times Power loss. Try disconnecting the sensor before the next morning you start it up,you should hear the radiator fans kicking in non start while the senor is disconnected, this is jut failsafe mode.See if the idle improves. |
