Hi all,
New member, didn't read the guidelines about subject lines: therefore this is post number two, now following the correct subject protocols (I hope)... apologies! Straight to the point: I am locked out of my 1999 Nissan Primera SE. The key fob no longer seems to work - changed batteries, no luck - and the car key doesn't go all the way into the door or boot locks, so I'm a bit flummoxed. It's an older model so it doesn't have the hidden lock-under-flap on the passenger door handle. Does anyone have any guidance on what may be the issue? Is it the car battery? Even if it is, I can't get into the car... Am I missing something more obvious? Any help would be gratefully received. Cheers

If you have breakdown cover, they might at least get you into the car. You can then test the battery by seeing if the engine starts.

Welcome to NPOC,
Did you get more than one Key with the Car? Sounds like the Ignition Barrel (or all External Locks) have been changed. |

Thanks both,
I do have a spare key, and that doesn't work either so you are probably right about the ignition barrel/external locks. Looks like it's a job for the breakdown guys, then!

Got any thick metal wirelike the old coat hangers? Bend one end or make a hoop to hook onto the door lock. Pull the corner of the drivers door and see if you can see if you can feed the wire down to hook onto the lock/latch and pull it.
