Hello,
I have a 1997 Primera SE 2ltr Auto with only 100,800 miles on the clock (not bad for a 22 year old). I'm going to change the positive batter terminal connector over as it's looking rather thin and I've had problems in the past with it coming loose etc.. On further viewing it looks a two part connector with the heavier duty cable onto the main part of the connector and the console electrics onto the other with a bladed connector. I thought at first this may have been fused somehow but it doesn't look like it and this blade connector has a single cable running into it. The red colour coded protector is fastened to this side. Does anyone know if there is a connector of this type around or will it just be as easy to cut both cables and put them into one directly with a twist ? I've had a search around but can't see these type anywhere but a lot of the holed/allen key for after market audio etc.. appear to be bountiful such as "eSynic Car Battery Terminals Heavy-duty Battery Terminal Connector Battery " on Amazon. They don't appear to be too expensive but will have to search about again due to the reviews on fitting etc. Any suggestions would be helpful. regards, Rocky |

I put both of them together once in one of those hand clamp terminals like you see on French cars etc so you dont need a spanner or socket to remove them from the battery.Did away with the thin one being loose.

hi,
I'm not sure what you mean by the hand clamp terminals, can you point me to an image of them - is it those 'quick release' type of things ? I looked at those and then thought what if I go over an exceptionally big speed bump without seeing it .... hmm... Thanks for the reply. Rocky |

Hi again,
I've just had a look around on a basic search, are these the type you mean ? I must admit I've never seen them before (no French cars ever).. I also agree about the super-thin connector that Nissan put in, I thought it had thinned out over the years but it seems it's a standard they used at the time most likely. cheers again, |

They may not look like much, but I recommend the quick release terminal connectors with a plastic top that you push down to fasten - at least for the negative terminal. It makes for really fast battery disconnection, and I've never had problems with one being loose.
