Hi everyone.  Can anyone tell me please how easy is it to remove and replace the engine sump on a Primera p12.  Do you have only to remove the plastic undershield and then the sump bolts or is there anything else to remove.  Incidentally do I need any special tools.  Thanks.

No special tools needed..

The exhaust downpipe needs to be dropped so the sump clears the oil pick up when putting it back into place otherwise you'll struggle.

So that and the undertrays.

The bolts will come out easy but the sump might take some getting off,so give it some taps carefully with a rubber mallet and if need be try to pry it apart along the joint,be careful with the timing cover though its so easy to crack it..

Thanks a lot for information and finally does it have a normal sump gasket or do you have to buy some special sealant when fitting a new one.
