Do a wet compression test then to confirm one or the other.
Add a small amount of oil onto the pistons then check,if the readings go up then it's the rings/bores.If it stays the same then it's the valves/head gasket but since you say 2 cylinders next to each together are low then that is a classic sign of the head gasket on it's way out. |

Yes- I will try and borrow another compression tester kit. I think the guy who did the first compression test did it abit wrong- however given the way he did the test still seems that cylinders 2 & 3 were probaly lower than the 1 & 4. Which would suggest either worn Piston rings/ valve guides etc or the head gasket. I guess a wet test may reveal more. |
