Have uploaded a few more to the link; now for the minor issues:
Tape deck does not play (I’m still a fan of audio cassette...) Internal heater only works on maximum setting. Headlight low beam seems rather low, even on highest adjustment. Is it possible to raise the low beam without affecting high beam? (This is fantastic). |

Service Manual
http://www.npoc.co.uk/forum/nissan-primera-factory-service-manuals_topic29493.html Electrical Chapter Page EL-71 has the Headlight adjustment. The Low Beam is pretty poor on the 144. Not sure if some uprated Bulbs might help. Heater only working on Max will be the Resistor I have fixed 3 of these on our Nissans by re-soldering the Solder Fuse that corrodes. The Radio is coded to the Car. A used one would need resetting via Nissan or possibly Audio Repairer. You may be able to transfer the Tape Deck from a used Radio into your Radio. The usual was to buy a Facia Plate and fit an Aftermarket. The Facias are almost impossible to find now

Welcome to NPOC....and another welcome to a fellow P11-144 owner. I have an X-reg Sport plus. These cars are so nice to drive and getting rare. Keep us updated on your plans.

Hi all, thanks for your help.
Have ordered a heater resister from eBay & look to fit it next week. Guess I’ll have to go after market for the audio, it’s a shame as I’d like to keep it factory standard. Plan to work on the tape deck long term & see if it can be rescued... Will upload some pics, didn’t realise they were to be scrolled along. The brown under boot carpet is dirt, not rust |

Thanks for the advice Geordie,do you recon the steps below would work for radio code? (Got the instructions from ‘it still runs’; I’ve found the radio code in vehicle’s history paper work):
Step 1 Obtain your vehicle's factory code from the dealership or your car's owner's manual. Step 2 Insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the "Accessories," or "ACC," position. Step 3 Turn on the radio and wait about three minutes for the radio to stop playing without the car's engine running. Step 4 Hold down the "4" button on the keypad and a digit will appear on the screen. Use the tuning button to scroll to the first digit in the code. Press "5" to confirm the digit and use the tuning button to go to the next digit. Press "5" again and repeat the process for the four-digit code. After the last "5" is entered, the code will be set and you can remove the key from the ignition. |

What are you trying to do?
The Code only needs to be entered when you fit a Brand New (or reset) Radio. Won't work on a Radio from another Car. I presumed your Radio works but the Tape doesn't? See Service Manual Electrical Chapter Pages 216 - 217

Thanks imckay, was on the threshold of buying a used unit on eBay!
I’ll not do that & save myself all the disappointment... On the upside the 2 new key fobs arrived today & I’ve managed to just replace the rubber button sections. Keys now look much more smart. |
