Congratulations on winning August 2014 MOTM Mike! Both yourself and your Nordic Nissan Primera GTLE, are a very worthy entry in the NPOC Hall Of Fame!! How does it feel bagging this exclusive award?

I was and am, still genuinely overwhelmed to be asked to be MOTM. I did not think I had been active enough on the forums, haven't done enough modifications and haven’t been a member long enough etc. But sufficed to say, I am very happy and flattered to be selected and I am genuinely ecstatic, to be part of as you put it, "THE HALL OF FAME"! My Nordic GTLE, who is known as the MILF, is just as happy to have been recognised!

Before we talk cars, modifications and mechanics, we’d love to find out about you the owner. Please tell us about yourself and what you get up to, away from the NPOC.

My full name is Michael Peter Johnson, I'm 37 years old and share my birthday with the Americans and their Independence Day! I'm a larger than life character being 6 foot 3 high and 20.5 stone LOL! I've been married to Clare for 9 years now and we have 2 kids, Stephanie aged 5 and Ethan who's 2 years old. Our family pet is a West Highland Terrier called Paddy and we also have some goldfish!

I have had numerous careers; I took a year out so that my wife could finish her Nursing Diploma. Here’s a quick list of previous jobs and I can tell every man out there that my current job as HOUSE HUSBAND IS BY FAR THE MOST DIFFICULT TO DATE:

Window canvasser

Used car salesman

New / used car salesman

Debt collector

Door supervisor

Community warden

Estate management assistant

Property manager

Senior lettings negotiator

Lettings manager

Lettings Branch manager

HOUSE HUSBAND

I am going to college in September to do an access course so that I can eventually become a social worker.

I am a big WWE wrestling fan with over 75 autobiographies. I'm also an avid general collector, at one point had over 100 different Monopolies! I have also got 40 different Parker pens and I'm currently amassing different Nissan Primera badges.

How did you find the NPOC forums and are we any good? Would you happily recommend the club to other Nissan Primera owners?

Google search, when looking for a Nissan Primera to buy. I would most definitely recommend this club! I have been made welcome by all members that I have had contact with, managed to find all information needed and made some good friends too. What else could you ask for?

You’re an Elite Member here (our highest level of paying membership and respect to you too)!! Are you still getting value for money with that? And please sell us the reason, why everyone should become Elite.

Value for money YES! And it has been brilliant being Elite. I'll be going to Japfest 2 in a few weeks and it's FREE because I am an Elite Member woop woop! I also appreciated the lovely free breakfast at the ACE Cafe meet last Xmas and further discounts at other events, spot on!

What keeps you coming back to the forums every day?

To be honest, mostly the Trading sections and Breaking Primeras section to see if any new mods or bargains to be had LOL. But I do also have a quick look at other new posts as well and nice to see other members car updates.

What got you into a Nissan Primera to start with, was it on the list of cars to own, or a chance encounter?

I was a Nissan car salesman for years and for an 18 month period I sat in front of a P11 Primera GTSE Mystic with the Chromoflair paint. I've loved them ever since! I’ve had numerous different cars in between but always keep coming back to a GT baby.

Now I've spoken to you several times at Club Meets and I believe you have had a few Nissan Primeras before the gorgeous Nordic you currently own, sticking just with these, give us a list and tell us why you owned them, if you did anything to them and what happened to them:

Nissan Primera GT Red loon, this one I actually did put a set of 17s on and a stainless back box – Sold as steering rack was starting to leak.

Nissan Primera 2.0i SRi Green Hatch – Sold as fancied a change.

Nissan Primera 2.0i SLX Blue Hatch – Sold as fancied a change.

Nissan Primera GTLE Red loon – Sold as was making banging noises over bumps, now know it was probably an easy fix and was droplinks!

Nissan Primera GTLE Silver Hatch – Sold as had nearly 150k miles and I was going to be doing a lot of miles with work so bought newer.

Nissan Primera 2.0i SE Hatch – Took in part exchange from Tan "GT786" for the silver hatch and sold it on for nice little profit a week later.

Nissan Primera GT Hatch Red – Only bought as it was for sale locally, so cleaned it up and flogged it on for a nice little profit.

Nissan Primera GT Hatch in Nordic – Sold to (as found out later) an NPOC member, only reason for sale was that I fancied a change.

Would you say you are a car modifier, or just passionate about keeping the Primera on the road and using the opportunity to replace failed factory parts with upgrades?

A bit of both with the MILF. In the last year I have had it serviced twice and undersealed and I have done as many modifications that funds have allowed.

Any previous cars (none Primeras), you have thrown a lot of love and money at, in making it “your own”?

To be honest no, not really at all. The cars I have bought previously have mostly been standard apart from my Ford Escort RS Turbo, that had had thousands spent on it before I bought it and had originally been in the Patrick Collection for a lot of years - When I bought it she was running at 201 BHP. I did put a set of 17s that I picked up cheap locally and a big SS back box on my first Primera GT.

On to the modifications, now would be a great time to tell us all about your sexy Nordic GTLE Loon ! So please list your full spec and all modifications, inside and out:

Nissan Primera P11 GTLE loon only 3 owners including myself and supplying main dealer.

43K genuine miles with full service history.

I have had the MILF just over a year and had 2 full services and had it fully under sealed.

Refurbished original 16" Enkie alloys in metallic dark grey.

De badged boot.

GT mud flaps all round.

Genuine Nissan wind deflectors.

Genuine Nissan headlight protectors.

Dark tinted rear windows.

Custom NPOC windscreen shade.

NPOC tax disc holder.

NPOC air freshener.

Nissan Primera P11 144 sunglasses holders and rubber matt.

Purple alarm LED.

GT badge in grill.

GT badges on side of car.

Sunroof wind deflector.

G20 rear light set up.

NPOC stickers.

I do have numerous different badges but just can’t decide which ones to put on the GT. I also have some new Apex lowering springs, so when funds I'll allow will buy new Monroe shocks and get it lowered.

What’s the most enjoyable change you’ve made so far?

Deffo the G20 lights, I really liked the look of them on Pinky and by chance, managed to acquire them and with the help of Ricky "CLASSIX", they got fitted and wired up nicely.

Any horror stories of something you thought was going to be an awesome idea but just didn’t work when it went onto the car and can now be found in a bin somewhere LOL??

The G20 lights could have become a horror story LOL and we're still working on sorting the middle section and deciding which direction to go in, with leaving the plastic surrounds in grey or black. I'm also not sure about the sunroof wind deflector, I can see that coming of soon and ending up in bin!

If I gave £500 right now and told you it had to be spent on the car, what would you buy?

New alloys or a full stainless steel exhaust system.

If money was no object and you could do anything you wanted to your Nissan Primera P11 GTLE, what would you do?

I would love to win the lottery as I would hand the MILF over to Severn Valley Motorsport and get them to turn it into a full Primera GTR! However and when I have the available funds, I want to do the normal really:

Full stainless steel exhaust

Lowered

JDM front lights

Engine bay work

17inch wheels

New painted brake calipers

Do you carry out most of the repair work yourself and is there anything you wouldn’t take on and out of 1 – 5, what rated spanner monkey do you consider yourself to be?

I am completely and utterly inept! I would not even give myself a 1 LOL! My wife will not even let me change a plug. There's no way the G20 lights would have got fitted without Ricky!

Time for the quick fire question round!

What makes you smile?

My family, being happy, porn, PS3, Red Bull, boobies, the MILF, snakebite, Sons of Anarchy, oatcakes and cheese on toast with beans on top. I'm definitely not a complex man. What can I say I'm easily pleased.

What makes you sad?

My family being unhappy. Pricks who vandalise cars for no reason really gets me wanting to torture and hurt them, oh and men who hit women. Not having Red Bull and Pepsi Max to hand.

Tell us something we don't know about you..

I have a collection of about 400, yes 400 shot glasses in display cabinets, at my Mum and Dad’s house. I keep meaning to sort out moving them but I've just never get round to it and I've got about 50 in the kitchen cupboard too. I have been hover crafting which was also fun but also weirdly a scary experience! I have also dressed in drag, which I also found weirdly comfortable.

Your favourite colour?

Nordic Blue FTW!

Your lucky number?

39 as I have lived in 3 houses all number 39.

What will it say on your gravestone?

What goes up and due to numerous indiscretions and funk ups, must go down.

Your favourite drink (any)?

Red Bull, Jagermeister and Pepsi Max.

Your sub £10K second hand dream car would be?

Nissan Sunny GTiR as I had the GTi version and loved it to bits!

Your sub £30K second hand dream car would be?

Nissan Skyline R34 GTR, I drove one about 5 years ago and man it was an awesome experience.

If you could steal the keys to someone else’s car (on NPOC) for 1 day, which car would you steal and why?

"Mad Maru"s Nordic GT turbo (pictured below) because it's a Nordic and turbo'd! What more could you ask for.

What’s been your favourite Club Meet (Regional or National) of all time and why?

It was my first Japfest 2 event as I was unsure what to expect. I was made very welcome by all the club members and really enjoyed the day and watching people on the track.

Tell everyone who has never come out and joined us at a Club Meet, why they should..

It's always a great day out, with or without the family. Lovely people, great atmosphere and camaraderie and nice to be part of the Club Meet scene.

Can you see yourself owning this car for a long time, or will it’s time sadly come and you’ll be driving something completely different, you've had a lot of cars in the past Mr Mike LOL?

To be honest I really do want to own the MILF for a hell of a lot of years and complete a lot more mods. Hopefully in a few years I'll make it a weekend cherished chariot.

Here is my car history as you mentioned I've had a few LOL, not to mention the 7 cars my wife has had and all the company cars I've previously owned:

Austin Maestro 1.6

Fiat Uno Fire 1.0

Ford Orion 1.8i Ghia

Ford Escort RS Turbo 90 spec 200 BHP

Nissan Sunny 2.0 GTI

Saxo VTR

Vauxhall Carlton CDX 2.0

Nissan Primera GT Red Hatch

Nissan Primera GTLE Nordic Loon (Current)

NPOC for life (regardless of what car you own and drive) or leg it when you change car?

I would definitely stay a member no matter what car I had. I have been made more than welcome into the NPOC family.

Sum up in a few words, why everyone should own a Nissan Primera??

Great all rounder with everything you need in a car!

Tell Carlos Ghosn why he needs to bring back the Nissan Primera brand:

I personally think that the current mass market Primera sized cars are all pretty boring and generally all look the same! It would be great if he brought the Nissan Primera name back, with a Super GTR Saloon version hehe.

As I have asked all of the 2014 MOTM winners so far, we all read the debate in the December 2013 COTM about my decision to change the name of our monthly feature to "Member Of The Month" and also change the criteria and so on.. I do appreciate as a winner of this new feature, it’s going to be potentially hard to speak out against the new format LOL but did I make the right call in changing things around here? Or should I have left it as it was?

Like you say, as a current winner I suppose I am now a bit biased. I now love the MOTM feature LOL, however and being honest, I was a bit sad to see the old Car of The Month go, as one day I was hoping for a nice trophy. However I can still hope for a Club trophy at JAE one year.

Many thanks for telling us all about yourself and your Nordic Nissan Primera P11 GTLE Mike, you have a cracking car! Congratulations once again for winning Member Of The Month for August 2014! Please end this feature, in your own words and feel free to thank anyone who’s made this one possible.

As I stated at the start of this one, I am genuinely flattered to have won MOTM and I would like to thank all the staff at NPOC, as without them there would be no club and obviously all the members too, as without them there definitely would be no club! I have been made to feel welcome by all members I have come into contact with and made some good friends too.

I would like to give a special shout out to Ricky (NPOC Member CLASSIX), as without his help, expertise and persistence, not to mention his patience, the G20 lights would not have happened.

Congratulations once again to Mike!
