I don't think that is bad though,only 2 turbo replacements,given the stress they are under.

I'm with you Ash on that one,Turbos are the main problem with the P12 diesel.

The figure is around the 70k mark Brian,even with good maintainance.

Is there not a design flaw causing them to fail at such low mileages? It would be annoying if they where only a few years old, as it is now it practically writes an otherwise perfectly fine car off to most people.

Yes the design flaw is the failure of the shaft bearing (excessive wear) causing the turbine blades to rub on the housing. As Roy say Turbo Technics developed a beefier version
