Hello everybody.
My name is Mitrich. I live in Minsk, Belarus. I am overhauling my 18yo lovely WP11-144 TD. Recently I have disassembled side mirrors' drivers and found one duster was torn (you can see it in the pic). I'm pretty shure it can be found somewhere at eBay or Ali, but any name for that piece of rubber I can imagine with my limited English shows wrong result. Does anyone can help me to pick the right word for it? Or better find the approprite link in the above mentioned Inet auctions? Most obliged for understanding, cooperation and help... Thank you very much for your prompt. Seems you are the only one to speak English out of three dozens who have already viewed this post  I wish I had a suffucient permission to post in the professional section of this forum. Ingeneers / mechanics might probably know the right terminology. Chinese traders consider almost any rubber plug as grommet  . For hours, I have tried -grommet-washer-duster-seal-... in various combinations at auctions and Google Images. No result yet.But shoot  No passaran - gonna keep trying on my own |

Welcome to NPOC Mitrich,
I think it is made from some sort of Silicone Rubber. I have refitted one of mine when the Mirror was hit. My suggestions are Bellows and Gaiter. I cannot find anything matching what you need though. What would you call it in Russian/Belarusian ? I don't think you will find one except in another Mirror. Is it causing any problems? Could it be repaired with some Silicone Sheet or a Washer? |

A couple of days ago I was thinking of addressing a friendly lathe-turner to make a mold for casting that duster. Though I'm sure such a piece of rubber, whatever it's called, exists somewhere on this good planet, the time and effort spent does not correspond their value. Nevertheless, as I love precise and complete jobs, I will follow your kind advise and get a used one - I have found it for 10 bucks at a local junkyard))) |

Unfortunately, in all Inet sourses both bellows and gaiters are shown in their direct meanings. In Belarus most people speak Russian. Funny, but in Russian there is no precise word to that rubber too. Most common term is "pylnik" - duster which is followed by a part number))) I often improvise with materials. Especially nowadays, when the world has gone crazy about money and asks fortunes for every trifle piece. I'm not that greedy and I have always worked hard to earn living, but I do not wish to feed parasites to enjoy unearned dough. In this case, I'm repairing my last car, I hope, to carry my auld bottom for another 10-15 years and I want to make everything the best way I can afford))) Anyway I am grateful to you for spending your time and energy to help me. Such kind attitude is so rare in the contemporary world of Homo Consumeris. |

Have you come across the Primera Club Russia? I have found some good fixes and info on there via Google Translate. Some of it doesn't translate into English very well. Had a look at your Websites. Some very good work on the Wheels  The MX5 Wheels that had been shot-blasted with Steel  |

Thanks a lot for the links. The products there are much closer to the item in question, but are still not perfect. I will try a used mirror, as you said. Conserning Primera Clubs, I'm a member of three of them (NPOC now included), but do not visit them frequently. The matter is the most of posters there are young amateurs. I'm an amateur too though not young. After 40 garage years I find very little useful info at clubs. I myself have overhauled the engine, repaired burnt main harness, rebuilt suspension, worked on rust and made paint job. Primera FSRM was my best advisor (sounds like cheap boasting but it's my pride))))).
