Hi all,

Have owned and enjoyed a 98 Primera 2.0GX hatch for the last 4 years....bought for £900 with 40k miles, 1 owner from new and the most comprehensive service history you have ever seen!  Is genuinely one of the best cars I have ever owned....comfortable, economical, just enough power to make progress, with great steering, incredibly well balanced handling and a huge boot, what more do you need? Smile

Unfortunately, now with mileage approaching 110k it is becoming a little tired and I am considering a change to a tidy P11 Primera GT I have been offered, however, have heard they can sound a little "busy" at motorway speeds.
My current car pulls 3000rpm at 70mph in 5th, can anybody advise if the GT is the same, or if the gearing is shorter?

Many Thanks.......

The Gt is a excellent cruiser at motorway speeds.Mine also sits at 3000rpm at 70MPH.

iirc the GT does about 22mph per thousand in 5th gear. so therefore it would be doing about 66mph @ 3,000rpm. yes its slightly crazy! especially when your diesel van is pulling 30mph per thousand therefore flying at 90mph @ the same 3,000 rpm

completely agreed here,

all of our GT's we've had, they've never used a drop of oil but despite that, i've allways given an oil and filter change at 3k intervals and these cars will keep soldiering on.
