Congratulations go to James Inglis for winning Car of the Month for July 2008.  His awesome P10 turbo puts him up there with one of the most powerful Primeras in the country.

Congratulations James, how does it feel to win COTM?

I'm well chuffed, so many people have commented about how my car is worthy of the award but it has just been a matter of fingers crossed every month and finally it's come I feel totally honoured - Thanks.

First off, let us find a bit about the person behind the car. Tell us about yourself James.

I'm married with 2 kids: Shannon who's 12 and Jack who most people know from the meetings is 5. I've had an addiction for fast cars since I was a kid and have had stuff ranging from p10 eZX's and 2.8 injection Capri's to 1.8 Civic VTI's and gladly resorted back to my love of Primera's with my eGT Turbo.

How did you manage to stumble across the NPOC community and why did you stay?

I was told about NPOC by the car's previous owner Mark and once I had become an Elite member have never looked back. I still remember my first meeting in my Mrs' Citroen C3 in Norfolk with Tom, Ross, Sluffer, Dave (P12DMR) and the rest of the guys, sorry but I can't remember everybody and even though it was pissing it down all day, it was still a great day.

So to the good bit and tell us all about your car.

Well as most people know it was Mark and Emma's car (former members) and to be honest I'm extremely thankfull to them because they were the people that invested a lot of time and money into this car and the people that kept this car in such great condition. When I bought the car from Mark it still had a few teething problems with the turbo but thankfully I have been able to sort them. The intercooler pipes had been hand made and kept blowing off so I got my trusty friend at Powerflow in Telford to form me some new ones from stainless steel. The other problem I had was the plugs keep pre-igniting themselves (the ends blowing off) but a session at my trusty road specialist and an upgrade of plug type and we had sorted that issue and am currently producing 279bhp. The cars spec list is as follows:

Standard sr20de engine
Garret T28 turbo
Modified one off intercooler
Custom fuel rail with Pulsar injectors
High pressure fuel pump
Full stainless exhaust
Stainless header
Piggy back ECU
Blitz air filter
Turbo Timer
Manual boost adjuster
Oil cooler

K Sport coil overs all round
18" wheels
Drilled and vented discs all round with Mintex pads

Double din DVD Head Unit with Headrest dvd screens
Stealth shelf with 2500 watt Sony mono block powering  2 x 12" Kenwood subs in a box and a Sony 400 watt 4 channel amp powering 2 sets of Infinity components
Carbon fibre door strips.
Blacked out rear windows
Momo Steering wheel
Momo gear knob

It must be hard to think of more things to do with a car so modified as yours but are there any future plans for your car in the pipework?

I do plan to put a Garret T3 roller bearing turbo on but not sure when I'm going to do it. This is more for reliability reasons than to increase BHP numbers although I would like to see it hit 300 bhp and I would like to improve the intercooling. Other than that I'm trying to calm down on the spending a bit.

So are you a bit of a greasemonkey and like to tackle your primera problems headon yourself or do you like it in the hands of a trained professional?

To be honest for most of the stuff between my close friend Mark, good friend denty and myself there isn't much we can't do but I still rely on my rolling road specialist for any setting up that needs doing. For anything else we would normally do it ourselves.

If you knew your car was going to go up in flames in the next 10 minutes, what is the one piece off of it you would rescue and why?

My turbo if I was was fast enough, but a simple touch that I love is my carbon fibre door strips they are a great add on and improve the look of the P10 greatly (thanks to Nabber for a great group buy).

We have noticed that you like to travel the length and breadth of the country to turn up at the meetings regularly, so what attracts you to them so much?

I think the people in NPOC are a great bunch and I love the cars so the combination of the two makes for a great day.

What is the best NPOC moment for yourself?

This is one, but every meet and even every time I drive my car I'm just buzzing, so the whole NPOC family has been a great addition to my life.

So now for a Magnus Magnusson moment. A Quick fire question round

Whats your favourite cheese - Cathedral mature (light) that's me trying to be healthy.

Favourite car ever made - Lancia Intergrale

Favourite car you've ever owned - My Primera

Favourite Car on NPOC - Mine, Marks Mystic, Nabbers P11, Leighs 4x4, all the nordics all the 10's, the welsh guys 144 sorry I can't remember your name and all the other guys and girls I haven't mentioned. Sorry I couldn't name one.

The best meet of the year for you - Ace cafe. The curry night and plenty of beers with Ant Dat, Col, Tom, Nabbs & G, etc etc. It was a great night. I've got to say the weekend with Nabbs, Gav and Tom in Sunderland for a North East meet was also very special.

Congratulations again for a very worthy COTM winner. And last but not least, anyone you want to say a quick thanks to within the club?

Thanks to Tom, Sluffs and Dave from the Eastern block.

Nabbs, Col, Gav and Crazy from the Northern lot.

Shauny and Biojoba, Leigh, Keith, Ade and Evo from the Southern lot.

Andy and Naughtynorm from the middle of the country and of course my local boys Mark, Stuferg, Craig, Denty and Jam p11 for making me feel welcome and part of the club

My thanks to everybody else that I haven't mentioned (including the wife for putting up with my spending habits).
