Car losing power, apparently car goes into limp safe mode.. local mechanic diagnostic report stating "low fuel pressure regulator 1", car sometimes drives normal for a short period of time. Engine lamp light showing on dash. Car up for MOT in two weeks, would be grateful for some helpful advice.

   Regards
   Stephen.

Welcome to NPOC

Is it a P0089 Error?
Sounds like it may be the SCV. Suction Control Valve.

If you don't know the error or don't have an OBD2 Reader, you can get the error Codes by following this

The above process is also required if you replace the SCV

Thanks for the advice imckay, carried out the procedure, no codes flashed up but the engine lamp light on the dash did Flash and the light was removed when I carried out the full procedure to reset. Drove the car for a few miles and car is not running in limp safe mode with loss of power anymore. Hopefully that is problem solved, just curious why the local mechanics mini hand held gadget did show up statement  "low fuel pressure regulator 1"

Regards
Stephen.
