    Posted: 16 Jan 2017 at 10:54am
i posted on here about my ABS code, cant seem to find the post...

first code - 1 long flash followed by 2 short flashes.
second code - 3 long flashes and 1 short flash

i cannot 100% remember the second code but its something like as above.

is there somewhere where i can find the location for the meaning of the different codes?

thanks

First one is no fault found. That always comes up.

Second one would be open circuit in rear right hand wheel speed sensor.

But yesterday you said it was 40 which you must of miscounted as there's no code for 40.

may sound like a daft/silly question,

what is the difference between an open and short circuit? what could be the solutions to both?

thanks

A failed sensor could cause a open or short.

If you have got a open circuit you may have a damaged wire or poor connection.

If the ABS light is on all the time then 9/10 it's a sensor. If it's intermittent(when turning the steering lock to lock) it's cable related.

If you get pulsating brake pedal when coming to a stop it's likely to be the ABS reluctor ring.

i am 100% sure that the rings are fine, after inspection!

abs light has come on and stays on.

would a clean of contacts rectify the problem?

i have ordered replacement abs sensors regardless!
