I know how much we love our cars, but there comes a time to refresh! This week my Primera will reach 180,000 miles ... who is driving a similar petrol 2 litre car and what mileages have you attained? ... I don't want to change it but prefer to do so on a planned not distressed basis! If you have moved on, what was it that failed giving reason to change?

To date all is running well, original clutch, gearbox, aircon etc, just changed the usual like exhausts, brakes, wiper blades, bulbs, tyres and a few ebay spares, like a new door (minor argument with a wall), both wing mirrors (vandalised, and more than once) and a petrol flap! I change the engine oil every 10,000 miles and have the car serviced annually by Nissan garage to keep the free Nissan breakdown cover.

it's my second Primera, first was sold at 172k miles, still had originals as this one (P10 - K reg)

have had a scare with the gearbox on this car, difficult to select gears when warm, I am aware of past discussions on this web site about the Renault Lugana 6 speed boxes, a friendly independent garage greased the linkages and now it's now much better ... but for how long I don't know!

doubt your car will have the same components, but fingers crossed for you!

Iv just bought a p10 eGT on 187k, drives pretty well really, would benefit from some tlc but for its mileage it really doesn't drive that much worse than one at 41k! Unfortunately rust has caught up with it so it's days are very very numbered as it's pointless putting another MOT on it, but if I didn't already have a few others I'd of been very tempted to see just how long it would run for
