Mine's the same and I find it slightly annoying. basically setting it to 18deg will turn off the heat and just blow in the air from the outside. If it's 4deg outside that's how cold it will be in your car set to 18deg. It means if you want it to be 12deg then tough luck. Setting to 18.5deg will mean the car will try to make the interior 18.5. So there really is no inbetween.
I feel the whole console in the N16/P12/V10 was not properly thought out and was poorly designed. It's like it was done in a rush. Climate control should have had separate physical controls like they put in the X-Trail and Navara D40, and all the latest Nissans (now caught up with all the other manufacturers), and instead of large drives taking up all the dash space they should have been integrated with the radio controls, with only a slot visible. /rant edit: How they should have done it (this taken from promo pics for the release of the 2010 facelift Navara) Exactly what I was on about.. ![]() |

Not sure why anyone would want it aiming for an ambient temperature less than 18degrees. Just because its aiming for 18 doesnt mean it blows 18. Mine blows ice cold air even in the middle of summer when set at 21 if the car is a bit hot.
Sounds like a few of these systems need a regas to me. Most places don't charge if it doesn't need a top up... |

like i said its a preference issue, all the cars ive had in the past have had systems that go lower than 18, this car would seem not, i understand what all is being said and am grateful, but what is the secret for want of a better work does the climate control mean you have 2 4 41 and 51 in the set up menu, i simply thought that 18C was default and it could be lowered, believe me i travel to northern spain for six weeks of the year in august and 18 is not what i`ll be wanting blowing in my face i can tell you. today it was 8c outside up to 11c at one point and there was no noticeable difference, with it set to 18C with or with out the air con on, went to a friend today who works for the local ambulance service he does the air con on there vehicles, and my car was fine all working all full of gas everything running as it should, so to enquire do you think when i am in the baking heat here or spain in the height of summer setting the climate control to 18C i1l think what the hell was i moaning about back in march, might well be new owner quibbles, "i hope that's it"
many thanks for the help |
