No power goin up.hills sound like timing chain but more common on almeara,

It's not impossible though to have brake light problems that make the ECU misbehave, dropping power.  I've seen it on a Focus and heard about it on other cars.  Everything electrical on cars is interconnected these days and has been for the last several years.
