surely something as serious as that would be picked up when driving the car 10k miles since ownership!

but yep like many owners out there it may not get picked up.

any tips on picking it up when test driving it?

As Shaun states only when it goes wrong does it get spotted. Often it is a blown bulb and replacement which affects things, sometimes just corrosion

Can I assume the earthing problem can also make the Rear fog light flicker when I apply the brakes on my Nissan Primera P12 2003. Some have suggested dirty contacts on the connector on the light assembly or the wiring harness which can be replaced via Nissan for around £40.

It doesn't do it all the time but is a little distracting when it happens.

The fix is so simple and cheap it is best to start there, you can inspect the contacts and track at the same timeThumbs Up

OK thanks, I will have a look, fingers crossed. I can take it that Is the flickering rear fog light on the dash console is a known symptom from this fault then Wink.
