Congratulations for October 2011 go to...................

ALL THE NPOC GUYS AND GALS (and their guests) who represented on the NPOC stand at JAE 2011!

In this special Feature Of The Month (to replace our traditional COTM), we'll try bloody hard to look back and take it all in (again), as we review the club cars, club members, club activities and well... Just review it all! This feature is purely one dedicated to the NPOC and what we did at JAE!

Anyways.. WELL DONE to all of you who were there, you did the Club proud! You'll see photos of the NPOC cars splattered all over the place in here.. They looked amazing!

The Intro:

JAE (Japanese Auto Extravaganza) is a long standing Jap car meet and over the years has grown from what was originally a weekend get together for some Old Skool Datsuns, to the biggest annual Jap car meet outside of Japan!!

The whole event runs from Thursday through to Sunday (September).

What you'll find at JAE is the UK's finest Jap Car Clubs (and some from Europe too), their members chilling out and a few thousand serious Jap cars!

We have a massive club stand at JAE and we all camp directly it and socialise on it for the whole event.. We lovingly call it the "NPOC Village"! We had around 40 club cars on display and our numbers (members and guests) totalled around 60!

Thursday:

The Staff Team were on site a day earlier than the rest. This was to make sure everything was OK with our plot, erect the gazeebo and decide how we would set up the stand for the weekend. It's a surreal lonely place at JAE on the Thursday!

Friday:

The other members who arrived throughout Friday (some at the crack of dawn), started washing and waxing their cars, spending hours detailing and bringing them up to an incredible standard for viewing.

Friday night was spent chilling out in the NPOC village but this year with an added bonus! The Club Owners dug deep into club funds and gave the nod for a hot dog night (as a freebie), for all who were there. This went down a treat!

Saturday:

This is pretty much the "all systems go" day! The public roll in through the gates to check out the cars and the clubs lock horns and continue the sporting battles. I'll cover all of this in more detail below. But for now, let's look at the members cars on display and doing the club proud on Saturday!!

We also hold our own annual car judging competition (with some awesome club trophies to be bagged) on the Saturday on the NPOC stand, the cars were absolutely stunning!! It was constantly mentioned that judging and voting was just soooooooo hard, because the cars were so evenly matched.

The NPOC Sporting Teams:

We entered teams and individuals into most events at JAE and before we cover any of that.. MAHOOSIVE RESPECT to all of you who represented the club here.. AND a big shout out to all of the remaining members, who supported from the sidelines too!

We had some success in the It's A Knockout Competition this year. Our members won trophies for the karting again (not an overall win though sadly). We did have event wins for "dyp" in the Gladiator Jousting and "Mad Maru" in the Endurance "feel the pain" event.

NPOC Quiz - It went down so well in 2010, that we decided to run an official NPOC Quiz again on Saturday for 2011! Teams of 4 or less were formed and 20 questions were asked... The winners were a team were made up of members "Geordie", "prim-n-proper", "Kitfar" and "Peetee"... Do please note: Whilst they may be the brainiest 4 members at JAE, I recently asked them if they could tell their quiz team name so I could put it in this feature AND.... Not one of the egghead dumb fooks could remember the name LOL!

NPOC Show N Shine Awards:

This is our own club competition and EVERY member who has a car on the stand could win a trophy. What makes this a special event is that the judging is done by the members. Anyone who won anything can be happy that they won it, due to the admiration and respect of their fellow members.

The votes were counted up and shortly after the club BBQ in the early evening, the NPOC awards ceremony took place.

The trophies were presented as always by "essNchill" and here's the categories and your winnersClap Here's the trophies ready to go:

Best P10 and winner of the trophy was: "Sluffer"

Best P11 and winner of the trophy was: "riggsy99"

Best P11-144 and winner of the trophy was: "Geordie"

Best P12 and winner of the trophy was: "bigsydney"

Best OE / Standard Spec and winner of the trophy was: "Taz Taylor"

Best Show & Shine and winner of the trophy was: "essNchill"

Best Primera on stand and winner of the trophy was: "Mad Maru"

Runner Up and also receiving a trophy was: "Neilistic"

A big well done to all of youBow Down

The winners of the "NPOC Quiz", also stepped up to receive their trophy as well:

Unofficial NPOC awards for the following took place and here's your winnersBig smile:

Best Nissan Note - "Yogi"

Best Mazda RX8 - "Ollierockk"

Best Nissan Micra K11 - "p11sr20"

Best Nissan Micra K12 - "Fliss"

Best Ford Transit - "shade"

There was also a surprise trophy presented to "essNchill" by his daughter "Princess Fluffy" and a poem read out too. This was more a personal thing then official NPOC business but most of the members here know the background behind it - Thank you for your support.

Saturday night was (as is tradition) PARTY NIGHT in the NPOC Village!! Once we had got the BBQ out of the way and the trophy presentations out of the way, it was time to demolish the massive amount of drink!! All of the drink was paid for under the catering option we provide and we didn't run out.

Our members who took part in the "It's A Knockout" inter club events, also went to the JAE Admin tent to collect their trophies - AWESOME!

Between the excellent fireworks display (put on by the event organisers) and the brilliant and friendly chat amongst friends, the drinking continued into the early hours as Saturday night became Sunday morning..

The Nissan Club Nederland (NCN):

This was the 4th year in a row the NCN have come all the way from Holland to JAE!!

The 2 clubs have now formed a good and lasting relationship and this year (again) at JAE we united to share the same space! This meant we all camped together.

It also meant we displayed our club cars together (although we did divide the clubs) and it also meant that with their mighty fine club marquee next to ours, we had a good (and dry) community chill zone.

Let's have a look at the NCN cars:

Sunday:

The last day of JAE for us all! It's always a sad one, as we all know JAE is ending and we're gonna be packing away the tents and loading the cars up and then having to wait another whole year. We get the morning started off well, with bacon butties and fresh juice for all.. Then it's just a matter of time until the clear up starts. Some left early to avoid the traffic, others stayed as long into the day as they could.

The food, beer and fun:

Every year we do a catering option for the members and we keep it cheap too! £10 of your finest gold coins bought you: Unlimited tea / coffee for the whole event, as much beer / wine / coke as you could drink on Saturday night and a BBQ. Still hungry on Sunday morning? Well we also made you all bacon rolls as well! £10 bargain and if you were an Elite Member, well that was a freebie for you.

"essNchill" as always took on the yearly task of sourcing the catering for the club as always and were assisted by many members. Special thanks to all the members who helped cook, carry the supplies and clean up - Thank you!

So let's take a look at the chilling / drinking and just having fun and some selective car and group shots, I'll also close this feature with some quotes and feedback directly from you guys and gals who were there..

"p11sr20" wrote: Just got to say a massive thanks to everyone that turned up, helped out and organised everything to make the weekend what it was.

This was one of (if not the) best JAE to date, even if I did miss most of friday night, was repeatedly violated on Friday night and then had the Micra vandalised no none less than a club owner.

A special thanks go out to the D3 crew for such a funny and eventful, weekend.

"FriedGold" wrote: Just got back. Corker of a weekend again!  Amazed the weather was so good. Jane and I had a brilliant time too. Thanks again to the organisers, the Dutch guys for helping us batten down the hatches when the marquee roof tried to take off and just to everyone for the lulz. Superb cars on show as always too!

"modsman" wrote: Had a great time there .. nice to meet everyone .. and see some great cars"

"Princess Flufy" wrote: I wanna say a big thankyou for a great time, me and Dan enjoyed ourselves. You guys made it happen!! Roll on next year, when we hope to bring the trophy home for it's a knock out! Hope you enjoyed my surprises for my Daddy. He well deserved it. Thanks again, hope to see you all soon xxx

"twelve" wrote: I had a fantastic weekend with everyone that made it. Always a laugh with the Southerners and great to catch up with others I don't see so often. Met a few new faces as well.

"Neilistic" wrote: I got back a little while ago, big thanks to everyone I met and spoke too and drank with LOL. The food was awesome and for once the weather almost played ball.

"Peetee" wrote: I want to add my thanks to everyone who made it the weekend It was! Special thanks go to the D3 crew, awesome crack guys as usual! And the usual crew and Newer members I hadn't really met before. Thanks to the organisers for everything you did to make it another cracking weekend! And to everyone who helped out cateringwise to keep us fed!

"bigsydney" wrote: First I'd like to thank everyone for the help in getting to JAE this year, another big thanks to all those that helped to sort the dent in my car. Now I would like to say, what I couldn't say during the trophy presentation - Thank you for everyone that voted for my car, with all the bad luck I had, I was not expecting this great surprise and became emotional at the generosity of my fellow club members for fitting the bill and voting for me. This has made me realise the club is made up of love, people and then cars. Thanks to all and a great meet.

"WhIpLa$h" wrote: Thanks for a fantastic weekend, especially big thanks to the guys who organised everything and everyone who cooked the food!! cant wait to see you all again soon!

Overall was a cracking weekend with the NPOC and really enjoyed everyones company!

"Geordie" wrote: Got to say, what a fantastic weekend had by both me and Cam!

Huge thanks to all who voted for the wagon. Sorry if my speech was a bit naff, I was totally overwhelmed knowing it's members votes that count. Very humbling.

Great to see the usual crew again as always, and special to meet first timers as well. Smashing to put faces to the forum names.

The weather was a huge bonus, considering the dubious forecast. Massive thanks to the staff and everyone involved the organised the weekend, and all involved in the cooking.

"barrakuda" wrote:had an amazing weekend, really chuffed to be a member of a club like this. The owners, staff & all who helped to feed & entertain us really pulled out the stops & did a cracking job.

"Jonny-Young" wrote: This weekend was awesome as usual and massive thanks to the organisers, staff helpers, chefs and all the other members.

"yogi" wrote: Well that was my fourth JAE and it just gets better and better.

Firstly a big thanks too Shaun, G and Ade for the organisation and setup of the JAE experiance and also to the rest of the Staff team who do a lot behind the scenes too.

Being a previous Primera owner I was a bit sad that I wasn't there with the 144 BUT the level of our stand was fantastic and was a pleasure to walk around the NPOC community and take in everyone's changes etc.

Lastly thanks too everyone who turned up and made it a cracking weekend. Always great to see people you can call friends in one place at the same time.

"Gemz" wrote: Well! It was a smashing weekend again, lovely to see everyone again and to meet new peeps! Was cool to see the Dutchies too, a huge thanks for the top!

Loved helping with the cooking (my onions rock!) and helping those who couldn't open their cheese LOL!

Looking forward to next year now guys! It only gets better!

"shade" wrote: Awesome as ever, thanks to everyone who was there!

"Snowy" wrote: Another great JAE even though we were slightly down on numbers but understandable with these economic times. Nice to meet new faces & old.

Many thanks to Shaun Ade & G for organising & everyone else who helped make things run smoothly.

NPOC rocks because of the members it's a team effort!

"Mad Maru" wrote: Firstly what a great weekend, I couldn't think of a better way to spend a weekend in September then with you all at Wicksteed Park! The weather was spot on and kept us on our toes, the company was on point and there wasn't a dull moment all weekend.

Thank you to all those that saw fit to vote for GTT as best on show for the third straight year, I wasn't expecting it again and the award could've in my opinion gone to a few cars this year as the quality was amazing and I still feel extremely humbled by the honour again.

To the Club Owners, your input in making the club what it is and a place so many members want to be shouldn't be forgotten.

"kitfar" wrote: The weekend was brilliant, once again showing that NPOC is a family where people come first and the cars second.

We were well down on numbers but the same enthusiasm and pride kept the flag flying in the organised events and crucially in our own competitions, i think with less numbers of vehicles it was even harder than normal to vote.

I'm not even going to try to thank all the different members for their indvidual efforts in either bringing stuff for me or organising the event, just I luv's ya all.

"Angel1" wrote: I had a great time too. Was great to see and hug everyone again!

"Rocketman" wrote: Thanks for a cracking weekend!

The weekend wouldn't have been any good without the organisation skills of Shaun, Ade & G. So a BIG UP to them and the rest of you NPOCer's for making it happen

"Gizz" wrote: Respect to all for another top JAE. The banter was mint the cars were tops. Also a big shout out for the team who put this together every year.

"trigg51" wrote: First JAE with NPOC and I totally loved it. Was great to be made to feel so welcome and being able to put faces to names.

Big thanks go to Shaun, G and Ade for their organisational skills and thanks to all who helped with the catering.

The standard of cars was truely superb, which made voting really hard. Well done to all those who won a trophy, they were well deserved.

Thanks to all who commented on my car, really appreciated.

Looking forward to next year all ready. Thanks again for a great weekend!

"riggsy99" wrote: I'd just like to say a massive thank you to Shaun, G and Ade and all the other staff members behind the scenes, for making this weekend possible. It was amazing!!!

I'd like to say a massive thanks from Lisa for making her very welcome on her first JAE. She loved every minute of it, and is really looking forward to coming with us next year. We had a brilliant weekend. We are thankful that the weather stayed good for at least 90% of the time.

Thanks goes out to everyone who turned up for this one, even though there was a lack of numbers, those who were there made it an amazing one.

Thanks to everyone who voted for my GT this year. i wasn't expecting it. There were so many other lovely Primera's on the stand. Voting was sooooooo hard!! Well done to all my fellow trophy winners. Fully deserved.

Well done to all those who took part in the events. You all done very well.

Really looking forward to next years JAE!

"ragt20" wrote: Another JAE passed and what a great one this was as well, thought with the lower numbers it may not be the same, but it was just as good if not better.

It was great to meet up with all the usual suspects, and to meet all the noobs. Great seeing all the NCN guys again, and to meet a few new ones, hopefully more next year!

Great to see a lot of cool Primeras, all kept to such high levels as well.

I have gotta thank all those who turned up as without all of you, it wouldn't be the success it was.

Great weekend was had!

"Martin" wrote: Was fantastic meeting everyone, some for the first time, some I've met before. Had an excellent weekend and am looking forward to next year! Too many good things to comment on fully but one thing's for certain - NPOC know how to enjoy themselves.  Thank you ALL.

"Japsniper" wrote: All I can say is HAPPY DAYS what a great meet! Well done to all staff members etc who made this a great weekend and well done to the guys who won trophies.

"Sluffer" wrote: I would like to say a massive massive thanks for yet another great JAE weekend. I enjoyed it from start to finish. weather was great, even the ever so slight drizzle we had didn't damped the sprirts.

Thank you to Shaun, G & Ade for their organisation etc.. and also all those that helped out over the weekend, serving us food and keeping us watered.

Thank you to Stef, Gemz & Dyp for the shirt and asking me to be involved with Shauns Surprise.

And a huge huge thankyou goes out to those that voted for my P10. I'm sorry I didn't give much of a speech etc... but I was in deep shock and nearly in tears. It means so so much to me.

Sorry if I have missed anyone out, it most certainly isn't intentional.

So again a big hugemungouse massive thanks from me for another fantastic JAE weekend,  made all the more special by coming home with a trophy.

"essnchill" wrote: Here's my thanks to all - I had a great weekend!

Firstly a BIG thanks to all the members who contacted me in advance of JAE to offer their help - This meant a lot to me and you all know why.

Moving on a BIG BIG thanks to all of you who did help out at and during JAE.. I try to think I am superhuman but in reality I'm not and I needed your help and anyone I turned to asking for help, was on it like sonic.

Special thanks to all members who helped out with any of the catering and cooking.. This included all of you who moved stuff from the van to the marquee and my thanks again to the people who helped prep the food / lay out the table and so on. Shout out to my big Scottish hunky hero Andy (Gizz), who did all 3 BBQ sessions with me - You're a star Andy!!

Moving away from the catering side of it.. Thanks to all who repeatedly went around the stand placing crap in the bins and generally keeping the stand as clean as we could.

Well done and more thanks to all the members who took part in the IKO events and represented the club - RESPECT!

Finishing up (yay LOL!)... JAE 2011 was another great success for NPOC and that's solely down to the members who attended! Yes we were down on numbers from the previous year but we weren't down on heart / soul and love!!

Your cars looked fantastic and you didn't look half bad yourself either! You all truly represented what the NPOC is all about - Thank you.

This is your club - Your success!

Congratulations once again to the members of NPOC!
