Congratulations for October 2015 go to...................

ALL THE NPOC GUYS AND GALS (and their guests) who represented on the NPOC stand at JAE 2015!

In this special Feature Of The Month (to replace our traditional MOTM), we'll try bloody hard to look back and take it all in (again), as we review the club cars, club members, club activities and well... Just review it all! This feature is purely one dedicated to the NPOC and what we did at JAE!

Anyways.. WELL DONE to all of you who were there, you did the Club proud! You'll see photos of the NPOC cars splattered all over the place in here.. They looked amazing!

The Intro:

JAE (Japanese Auto Extravaganza) is a long standing Jap car meet and over the years has grown from what was originally a weekend get together for some Old Skool Datsuns, to the biggest annual Jap car meet outside of Japan!!

The whole event runs from Thursday through to Sunday (September).

What you'll find at JAE is the UK's finest Jap Car Clubs (and some from Europe too), their members chilling out and a few thousand serious Jap cars!

We have a massive club stand at JAE and we all camp directly it and socialise on it for the whole event.. We lovingly call it the "NPOC Village"! We had around 25 club cars on display and our numbers (members and guests) totaled around 40!

This year also saw the event changing location to Newark Showground! I think most of us were very happy with this new location too.

Thursday:

With the event opening it's gates to the clubs on Thursday! Traditionally it has just been the NPOC Staff Team on site on a Thursday, to set up the club stand! With some extra hands, we made light work of sorting the stand and getting the club marquee nice and erect (lol!). It was nice to have more members with us on Thursday but it's still a quiet place to be on Thursday! NPOC Member Roy, brought along the epic marquee again for our use - FORT NPOC YAY!!

Thanks Roy, it was awesome and 100% weatherproof too LOL!

Thursday day became Thursday night and this saw a mass pizza run as is tradition but still relatively quiet on members (around the whole showground), so it was a case of chilling out.

Friday:

Some more members arrived on Friday and got settled in (cars emptied and tents up) and as the sun started to set, the club BBQ got fired up!

Friday night was spent chilling out in the NPOC village but this year with an added bonus! The Club Owners dug deep into club funds and gave the nod for a baked potato and sausages night (as a freebie), for all who were there. The NPOC catering team got their first chance to grab the BBQ tools and get it on - This went down a treat.. More chilling late into the night followed!

Saturday:

This is pretty much the "all systems go" day! The public roll in through the gates to check out the cars but for now, let's look at some of the members cars (Nissan Primeras) on display and doing the club proud on Saturday!!

We also had members come out and join us for the weekender, who no longer own a Nissan Primera (or there Primera was off the road).. But still remain part of the family!! Here's a look at their cars:

Saturday night was (as is tradition) PARTY NIGHT in the NPOC Village!! Once we had got the BBQ out of the way, it was time to demolish the massive amount of drink!! All of the drink was paid for under the catering option we provide and we didn't run out.

Between the excellent fireworks display (put on by the event organisers) and the brilliant and friendly chat amongst friends, the drinking continued into the early hours as Saturday night became Sunday morning..

Sunday:

The last day of JAE for us all! It's always a sad one, as we all know JAE is ending and we're gonna be packing away the tents and loading the cars up and then having to wait another whole year. We get the morning started off well, with bacon butties and fresh juice for all.. Then it's just a matter of time until the clear up starts. Some left early to avoid the traffic, others stayed as long into the day as they could.

The food, beer and fun:

Every year we do a catering option for the members and we keep it cheap too! £15 of your finest gold coins bought you: Unlimited tea / coffee for the whole event, as much beer / wine / coke as you could drink on Saturday night and a BBQ. Still hungry on Sunday morning? Well we also made you all bacon rolls as well! £15 bargain and if you were an Elite Member, well that was a freebie for you.

"essNchill" as always took on the yearly task of sourcing the catering for the club as always and were assisted by many members. Special thanks to all the members who helped cook and special thanks to my normal BBQ wingman Andy, (with extra cheffing help from Ant), carry the supplies and clean up - Thank you!

So let's take a look at the chilling / drinking and just having fun and some selective car and member mug shots, I'll also close this feature with some quotes and feedback directly from you guys and gals who were there..

Kim wrote: "I've had an absolute fab weekend with all the NPOC family so wish we did this more than once a year love you all."

Big Col wrote: "Had a fantastic weekend. Looking forward to next year already!"

naughtynorm wrote: "A great weekend, I felt a lot more relaxed than other years, though it's been a while since I was with you guys. The location was a success and gives MASSIVE chance for growth. Thanks for the warm welcome back into the ' family ' from both myself, Simon and Chelcie. Personally I felt our pitch was excellently positioned and for those who didn't come due to not camping etc, do a G and book a nearby hotel or come for the day instead? As ever thanks to Shaun, Ade and G and to everyone who made comments on the old girl, (the Wannabe not the wife)!  Thanks to Dave (P12DMR) for the morning coffees."

P12DMR wrote: "Excellent weekend. Thanks you all those who arranged things behind the scenes food, Fort NPOC etc. Had a real great time and almost ran out of air guitar music on Saturday night as we finished at 3.15 am LOL. Really knackered now. Good to see some old lost but not forgotten faces again. Cheers Andy and Ant for the beer and cider's during the day."

roy.2 wrote: "Thanks to Shaun G and Ade for setting JAE 2015 up for us. The site at Newark was great in my opinion! A fabulous 4 days was enjoyed by everyone in the NPOC family. ALL the cars on the stand were looking the part as usual. Well done to all the folks that made it this year, let's hope we can get more people there next year. Thank you to everyone on the stand that made the 4 days so enjoyable for Kim and myself."

Geordie wrote: "hanks from me to the organisers for all their hard work. It is appreciated. Although I could only be there for about 4 hours on Saturday, it was great to be amongst the NPOC family again. I tried to get round to chat with as many people as I could, as well as have a quick wander round the site. Sorry if I didn't get to chat to everyone. Also sorry to Rich, Tom and the others who weren't there when I left, which meant I was unable to say tatty-bye. All the cars looked fantastic and it was a pleasure to park the Nordic on the club stand."

Stevie-Boy wrote: "Thank you all for an amazing JAE, really enjoyed it from Thursday right through. Superb to spend time with everyone. The words Roy said in his toast were very apt, 'NPOC Family'. Everyone there was like a family and there isn't a single person there that wouldn't have done anything for anyone else. Really great venue too, best JAE ever. Thanks to everyone who made it happen."

shade wrote: "Awesome weekend again people, thanks to everyone who came along!"

Sluffer wrote: "Another banging JAE weekend with the NPOC Family, had a brilliant time as usual, rain or shine we carry on regardless. Thanks to Ade, G & Shaun for organizing the weekend for us, Roy n Kim for the marquee again and the 5* chefs Andy, Ant and others involved in feeding us all. Huge thanks to Dave for trusting me to drive his BTCC Livery inspired P11 to JAE, being behind the wheel of a Primera bought an instant smile to my face again. JAE took to long to get here, but was over before we knew it, roll on 2016."

Ant-Dat wrote: "Have to say, fantastic weekend!"

Criteria wrote: "Had a blast again this year, JAE is easily the best event on the NPOC calendar! It was great catching up with everyone and meeting some new faces too. Just wanted to reiterate what an awesome 4 days this was. The people, cars and venue were spot on. Big thanks to all involved."

FriedGold wrote: "JAE is always a cracker but I think this was one of, if not the, best ones. Weather was mostly great, everyone was lovely, and the new venue is excellent. Great plot this year and a fantastic time had by all. Great venue, lots of beautiful jap metal and just a corker of a weekend all round. Massive thanks, as always, to Ade, Shaun, and G."

RS Tom-Hundred wrote: "Well the club owners did it again and what an awesome JAE! Although they are always brilliant, this was one of my favourites and the people, the cars and the venue were all spot on! Clap  Nice to have a few more people in attendance and hope we can hit higher numbers next year too. The weather was pretty good on the whole and thanks to the guys for making sure there was plenty of food and drink (which was also kindly topped up by Dave's shots, Tim's Jager and various drink over on the Micra stand with James to mean a 5am bed time and a rough feeling on Sunday morning!). Nice to have a good dance too and as well as all the YMCA and Fame stuff we also managed to get our rock on later via Dave's Nordic! Bring on the next meet and it was great to see everyone with the usual suspects and to have Nik welcomed back into the family too.  Pretty sure that a good time was had by all and the usual laughs and good times rolled! In the words of Roy "Raise a glass to the NPOC family!"

RocketMan wrote: "Great weekend was had by all. Good to be back I've missed it for 2 years, stayed mostly on the NPOC stand. Good turnout of NPOC'rs and Primeras."

shurv wrote: "Had a great 4 days, good to see everyone again. I'd like to say thanks to Shaun, G and Ade for organising everything, the cooks and anyone else who helped over the weekend, John's kids for keeping Lily-May entertained, Dave for the minions.."

ragt20 wrote: "Another cracking JAE, no JAE meet is the same, every time it's slightly different, be it because of different venue, different people there, at the end, it's always a great laugh and great fun.. Great to catch up with everyone for more fun and looking forward to the next one already."

NikC wrote: "I'd like to thank everyone for such a wonderful weekend at JAE. I saw old friends, made new friends, saw some amazing cars and had a party with my old skool jap club chums."

essNchill wrote: "JAE 2015 was a new location for the event and Newark Showground did not disappoint! The venue was spot on and I think we were all agreed it was better laid out and the NPOC stand and location was spot on too.

Even the weather came and went from epicly wet to suns out, guns out! But there were no complaints about the weather, I think we'd have all taken that one, if it was offered up before we got there haha!

So my massive thank you to all that came out to this one, yep the numbers were low again for the 2nd year in a row but hey, the atmosphere and vibe between us was chilled and we had a cracker all weekend. The cars were varied between Nissan Primeras and others and all of them looked awesome and all had the right to be there because we are a members first / cars second club.

Thank you to all the members who helped out on the club stand, from setting up the stand, moving stuff around, prepping food, cooking food and constantly clearing up after everyone - You guys and gals do all of this in the background and you do it without being asked - Seriously, thank you!

Anyways, we represented very well as a club - That's down to you members that were there - You made this one a success.

I wanted to end with a new strap line... "If you didn't go to JAE, you weren't missed - You missed out!"

Many thanks and take care,
Shaun"

Congratulations once again to the members of NPOC!
