Congratulations go to Dave Disco for winning Car of the Month for March 2006.

His superb Primera SE is a strong reminder of just how awesome the SE model is.

Well done Dave, how does it feel to win Car of the Month?

Quite shocked to be honest just didn't expect it, There's an awful lot of cars on the site that deserve it as well. I just didn't think it would be my time already or at all, so I was shocked when I found out.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your interests?

Well I'm 47 years old married to my wife Dorothy and have one child my son Lewis. My interests are most types of car and motorcycle racing, but my main hobby is rc car racing which I have done for many years starting off with tenth scale electric and nitro all the way through to large scale petrol ones. Which I will be doing again this year to defend my 2005 title.

Cheers Dave. Why did you choose this particular Primera, is it your first Primera and how did you find NPOC? We love the colour, what is the official name for that?

I had driven my dad's eGT many times and always thought to myself what a good car it was and must have been really good when it was new. So when I was on the look for another car I was looking for a Primera GT but I couldn?t find one anywhere at the time and nearly bought a Xsara VTS, then in the corner of the showroom I saw this grey metallic Primera and after a good look around it decided I wanted it more so when he gave me good money for my rotten Vectra (they're all rotten SC!). Then a week later I did a search for the Primera and the NPOC site came up and haven't looked back since. The official colour for my Primera is Metallic grey paint code KR22 I think.

Is this the first car you've owned where you've got into modding and the whole car club scene?

My first car was a 1966 Mini Cooper which I didn't have long before I got a mk2 Lotus Cortina and that was the first car I modified. Everybody around that time going back to the late 70's was jacking the rear end up and painting axles red, not me I lowered mine 50 mill, added a set of 14inch Wolfrace alloys with 195/50/14 tyres on it. Took the Lotus and twin cam badges off and put 1300 deluxe ones on it, had some fun with that car. Then there was other cars like Capri 3000 E, Dolomite sprint, Saab turbo, MK1 RS 1600 Escort,(bda) even things like Corsair 2000 E with a 3 Litre V6 in it. A mini van with a 1750 maxi engine in it, Various Vauxhalls Viva magnums, vx4/90?s, and firenza's. Then I discovered motorcycles and that finished off modifying cars. Still had a car but just drove them. And I turned to altering bikes which I have a few trophys for best bike and best custom from a few local bike events.

Amazing list!! Can you give us the spec of your SE, any modifications, any SE special extras? What is your favourite mod that you've done?

Only mods I have done to the car are the GT front bumper with the Reno splitter, GT grills, clear side repeaters, Allesio 15in alloys, and a K&N panel filter. There are a few extras the SE has as standard like the electric rear windows, heated electric seats, more air bags than enough, and a few extra chrome bits here and there.

Any tasks in the pipeline that you'd like to announce exclusively here?!

When the pennies allow I need some side skirts as its too high from the side now through the front bumper, clear rears or whatever is on the market at the time, A rear spoiler (not sure what type yet) and most important of all, get the bloody tow bar off!!

If your lottery numbers came up, what mod(s) would you most love to perform on your car?

Coil overs, 19 inch alloys, rolled arches and about 220 bhp from the motor.

It's been cracking to see you representing at the meets and providing great humour on the boards, will we see you around the big meets this year?

I will be doing the local meets this year but I would like to think I could get to one or two of the meets down south just so I could meet some of the members in the club more so a weekend one with the barbeque going and a few beers flowing.

Congratulations once again for winning Car of the Month, your SE is indeed a superb motor. Please give your shouts and thanks to anyone you wish:

Just a big thank you to the people who have helped me out with problems and sent me information when I needed it, also to the people involved for picking my car for this months car of the month. Many thanks to all of you. I hope to see all at the meetings.

Cracking Club and very friendly people, cheers, Dave.
