Hello,

I am just about to convert from halogen to xenon.
So far i just installed the original xenon headlights, it is working great.

But the Auto level control is all "funked up".. The headlight is aimed all the way to the ground.
I currently got the manuel level control switch.

So.

A.) Where do i get the: Auto Level Control Unit, Front level sensor, Rear level sensor?

B.) How do the Auto Level Control Unit talk to the level motors? (motors on the headlight)

C.) How is easy is it to swap the level motors from the old headlight to the new? do i just pull them out (with a little force)

Nissan Primera P11 144 2.0 1999

Best regards
Nissan fanboy :P

okey i just found out, the halogen level motor:
Pos. 3: 275ohm
pos. 2: 675ohm
Pos. 1: 1490ohm
Pos. 0: 0ohm (ground)

The level motor i easy to pull out.. Just turn the white nub anti clockwise, then twist the hole unit clockwise.

If nobody knows where in holy world, i can get a Auto Level Control Unit etc.
I gonna build one myself, with a arduino and some waterproof ultrasonic sensors.

Please let me know if you are stubling over a prober control unit :P

If i remember correctly, the auto-levelling for P11-144 HID headlamps requires a Potentiometer and lever attached to the rear suspension arm. However, I could be wrong...

You'll find the part number at nissan4u.com . Then search ebay for the part.

leegl4 > Yeps, thats the parts i am looking for. Smile

petterg > i cant even find the parts, on nissan4u.com
I think it's only jdm primera's that have xenon,  nissan4u.com only list parts for euro primera's.
I dont know where to look for jdm parts.Pinch

Big smile

But anyways, i will post a video when im done build my own control unit, (where it will aim the headlights up/down, when there is upcoming vehicles.)

How did it end? I am Considering the same procedure.. is it not just plug n play?
Please be honest😅🙈😂

The headlights itself are plug n play, but i ended up building the auto aiming thing my self.

But it is very easy to just swap out the xenon aiming motors to the halogen ones, this way you can just use the normal headlight aiming switch. (then of course you have to put in the old halogen, every time you are in for a MOT)

I Think i'll give it it a try and Then just use the old aimin motors..
how have you build your own, Do you have a link with some kind of walk through?
Dont Think the mot, here In Denmark Would check the headlights, when it is original.

Hope you understand..
Thank you very Much

The xenon headlights, lights up the road very well (please consider to put new d2s bulbs in it)

The way i built the auto aim "controller" is:

I mounted a ultrasonic sensor (parking sensor) in the back of the car, with the sensor pointing down to the ground.
With a arduino i controlled the headlights according to the parking sensor.
The headlights get's its signal via a voltage divider controlled by a group of relays. (the headlights need a signal between xx to xx volts)

When the car has been started for the first time, the headlights will go all the way down then up. (like the new cars), this was mostly done to fool the MOT guy :P

and by the way..

YES the Mot guy WILL check the headlights, when he notice the xenon lights.
they checked mine.

Så joo, de skam dine om dine xenon lygter har automatisk lygte justering og lygtevasker.

Over her in UK, if a car has Xenon headlights, it must then have headlight washers which work to pass the MOT. You can fit this quite easily tho either from another bumper or make your own. You'll need to split the water supply from the washer bottle unit but if you go scrap yard you'll be able to buy everything and put it in.
