Hi everyone, very pleased to find this forum, hoping you can help a student fix their beloved car!
Im trying to help my mate who has a 2003 Nissan Primera 1.5L wagon with the 5spd manual, the car is difficult to start, and once started, has no power, (not enough to get out of 1st gear). The check engine light is also on. Have checked the simple stuff; oil (slightly low), coolant (was almost empty but have topped up), battery, air filter. Don't have money to take it to a mechanic, but plenty of time to work on it ourselves. Was hoping you guys may have some suggestions! Cheers, Josh |

Welcome to NPOC
Ideally get it plugged in and find out why the Check Engine Light is on. Cheap OBD2 reader should do the trick. You can do it via pressing the Gas/Accelerator Pedal in a sequence. https://www.npoc.co.uk/FORUM/p12-all-engines-read-reset-ecu-fuel-pump_topic54932.html This Engine can suffer from Cam Chain Stretch. 1.6 not common in the UK but pretty much the same as the 1.8.
