Hi Guys

MY P12 was having a real problem starting  (Inconsistent) - I suspected that the Immobiliser was at fault.  Nevertheless, I was returning from a trip yesterday and the car just cut out on me.  Called the RAC -  Nothing apparent when they attached the Analyser under the steering wheel? Confused  The RAC guy proceeded to remove my back passenger seat and checked the fuel pump.  It turned out that the fuel pump was not getting any power when tested.  The RAC Chap bypassed the wire and run a live back to my fusebox. I was informed that this was safe and it got me home. Clap

Today I tried the car it started first time but would not switch off (So much for "I have attached it to a fuse that switches off with the ignition")  I removed the adapter wedged into the fuse holder and tried the car - Low and behold its firing up without the hot wire fixed by the RAC guy and working? Confused

Does anyone have any thoughts on the issue here?  Does the imobiliser cut the fuel pump?  The Rac Guy swore blind that it had nothing to do with the imobiliser but I am not sure? Shocked Clearly something had killed the power to the fuel pump.  I have previously applied the earthing trick to fix an annoying indicator trailer warning issue I had (Loud beeping on indication -no trailer attached).  I am just not sure what I am dealing with here?

I would be really grateful if anyone has any thoughts Confused

I have not heard of this issue before, If it was the immobiliser other systems ought to be switched off and simply adding power to the pump would not get the car going.

I now do not believe that it is the Imobiliser - I am thinking that it could just be the fuel pump relay.  Does anyone have experience of changing one of these on a 2003 Primera P12?  I am not shure where it is located?

Presume you have a Petrol?

Service Manual here. PrimeraP12.zip is the one you want
https://www.npoc.co.uk/forum/nissan-primera-factory-service-manuals_topic29493.html

Look in the Index for Fuel Pump and it has links to the Pump for each Engine type.
1.8 is a QG. 2.0 is a QR
Shows Removal, Circuit and Relay Location

Look like it is either behind the Panel to the Drivers Right Foot or Passengers Left
