Hi guys, the plastic pipe that the hose goes onto on the heater matrix has snapped off can the matrix be changed without removing the dashboard?

I should know this one ..... been a while so I’ve kinda forgotten but I know the dash needs to come out to get air con rad out and although the heater box splits it two I’m pretty sure it’s the same for heater matrix . Removing the dash isn’t difficult , but you need to release the brace behind it to get the heater box out ! Again not difficult but lots of screws and nuts involved. Remove the glove box and heater motor for a better look .

It’s really not hard to do . A little time consuming but easy compared with a lot of modern cars .

Yeh i know iv’e done an astra estate before, but this one iv’e bodged it my mate whose car it is can’t spare the time and i don’t like being rushed, it looks like a good one though and if anyone else finds themselves in the same boat a 15mm piece of copper tube fits a treat with a good dab of araldite, the end where the hose goes on needs to be a bit wider so we soldered on a fitting that that hose can fit snugly onto, i’ll let you know in a few days whether it worked once and for all, i’m going to let the glue set for a couple of days fingers crossed
