Correct Johnboy and as Ant states it's a Consult port, not an OBDII.

Cables are available from a company in Australia and there's various freeware and payware to be found on the internet.  I find Nissan DataScan is the most fully-featured, although all are geared to the DET ECUs rather than the NASP.  All of the softwares I've tried are unable to read the fuel maps on my ECU, but TBH, there's not much point - besides curiosity - in being able to read them anyway.

DataScan is really useful for simple things like turning off the fuel pump prior to disconnecting fuel pipes, or putting the ECU in service mode to adjust the timing or base idle.

Nissan changed to OBD from 2000 on likes of P11 -144 and N16
Nissan from early 90's to 2000 used consult. id be supprised if you can use scantool on it tbh, I have both Consult that uses Datascan (designed for nissan only) and i haveOBDII which i use scantool with but it;s not as good as the datascan.

Oh cool, I didn't know that.  I thought I'd read somewhere that it started out for DET tuning and was progressed to a wider number of ECUs at a later date.  I guess there's so many configurations and firmware versions that it's impossible to get it to work flawlessly with everything.
