    Posted: 18 Mar 2011 at 11:16am
Hi Everyone,

Have been reading the site, and there are some great articles on here, really glad I joined it has helped me loads so far.

I'm kinda new to all this, but I have a query that I am hoping someone might be able to help with.
The distributor has failed on my Primera, I believe it is a P11 model. (1996 on a P plate), it has been on the blink for a little while now on reflection. (Had initially suspected it was a fuel pump/filter problem)

But basically I am really struggling to find a second hand part and I don't really want to pay for a brand new one. (Not at £180 + VAT anwyay!)
I was wondering whether the distrubitor part number has to match exactly when looking for a replacement?
(for example, can I use one from a 2.0L primera or almera, or from a newer model, or is there a list of compatible part numbers anywhere?)
My part number is 22100-82J02, and I have a 1.6L 1996 Primera.

Any help or advice you might be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

Hi

Thanks for your reply.
It seems it is a P11, not a P10. Embarrassed

Not sure if this makes any difference to the distributor part number, but its good to get my facts right, and make sure I'm giving the right info.

Thanks for the link

No problem, i'm not sure if one size engine dizzy will fit another but a mate of mine got one for his GT from a breakers yard for £50 recently, i guess it's a case of finding one near you

Yer, this is my problem, have tried every brokers yard in a 25mile radius with no success.
Now examining ebay to see, but not all sellers are very descriptive!

I guess i was hoping that maybe there would be more than one part number that would do the job.
I think i have found one for £60, which seems ok!

any 1.6 should be usable from a P11, You might even be able to use one from a late P10 also

Hi everyone.

Still not much luck finding a part.
Is there any resources anywhere for finding the technical spec of a nissan distributor?
Have looked all over without much success.

I can't get an exact match on the model number and just want to check things like the mountings etc etc.

This way I hope I may just be able to find an equivalent part from somewhere.

Thanks

Would this be of any use? or is it impossible to tell without trying it?
Sorry, cars really are not my thing, but the garage is being less than helpful! lol
