For this retrofit drive it's clearly a compact disc for the programme and for the maps: it says Birdview Road Map X5.1 Germany CD-Rom Map. |

Usually a DVD Drive for the Nav. The Programme Disc may not be compatible with yours. You may be able to remove it without any problems. Disconnect it and see what happens.

Yes,
Well, on the other two I made yesterday I could also see the files. Now I made one without the readme file. Going downstairs now to try. Another: "Disc unusable". Well, these are cheap discs. Maybe that's why. I'm still waiting on the X6 DVD/CD I ordered, then I will know. I also found this thread: https://www.npoc.co.uk/forum/topic49164&OB=DESC.html There was some discussion on the type of Birdview. Mine is definetely the X5.1 map, no DVD, only CD. I have the Xanavi under the cd-player under the dash. But there is no mention of DVD on it, only CD I also can not use the MAP-button on thre dash. Nothing happens, same as the user in former mentioned thread. There's no button lighting up in orange(?) after MAP-cd is in. I do have a remote control. The receiver is plugged into the Xanavi SatNav. If this is the case: However there was another system in production, mainly for aftermarket dealer installations, which was CD-based (called v5). This system is very rare and I don't know of anywhere you would get replacement maps from. Actually this may be the reason why your console doesn't have the standard markings like DESTINATION and ROUTE, as your P12 would have been made without the satnav but was then retro-fitted with the CD version by a dealer. then I could take it out without problems for the dash/radio/climate control?

Volume Name shouldn't matter.
It's been a while since I used Imgburn. Pretty sure it is Write Files/Folders to Disc option. Once you burn the CD, you should be able to see the contents from your PC.

I'll give it another go. Thank you for that link.
I've already read it but maybe not good enough... ImgBurn asks for a name or puts a name into Volume name/label. Does it have to be a specific name?

Did you burn the Readme File as well?
It is not needed. I doubt it is causing a problem but you never know. Should just be the Main.dat and the ZZprg Folder https://www.npoc.co.uk/forum/nissan-primera-p12-no-english-language_topic81286_page1.html

Thanks,
I'll wait for the X6 dvd to arrive. If it doesn't work I'll try to update. I just burned the files on a CD, speed 1.0, but Birdview doesn't start the disc... Should I have left the zipped ZZprg folder zipped or not? It has been years since I burned a disc, so I don't know if I have to make it bootable. Imgburn then asks for an image file. Burned a second one, same result. "Disc unusable". I'm doing something the wrong way. So now looking in the mailbox before I try something else. I'll be back. |

No problem :)
I think it should be as it appears on my One Drive mainn001.dat file readme.txt file ZZprg Folder with 5 Sub Folders with 10 Files in each. All on the root of the CD The Programme Disc is a CD The Sat Nav Drive reads DVDs If you have CDs, burn to a CD. If you only have DVDs, try one.
