While investigating a clunking noise my Nissan Primera P11 was making, I noticed a split in the brake hose. So I ordered two new hoses off e-bay. Unfortunately when they arrived the lug on the banjo fitting is in a different orientation. See these example pictures: In order to get the pin on the fitting to line up with the slot on the disk brake, the hose needs to be really twisted and actually still doesn't fit properly. All the hoses on ebay seem to be like the one I ordered ? Is something weird with my primera, what should the banjo fitting look like ? Thanks. imgur.com/yoTMJap https://imgur.com/yoTMJap https://imgur.com/yoTMJap https://imgur.com/yoTMJap

The fittings are angled, nearside/offside, so you need to order the right part.
Or the left part.

OK Thanks. So I guess I got the wrong part. It's always a minefield ordering online. That part was definitely listed as being compatible with my vehicle, but I guess it wasn't :-( |

It would be compatible with your vehicle, but only for one side.
Don't feel bad. I have done it myself.

I don't think that part would fit either side. I just had a look at the vehicle, both original hoses have a small angle between where the hose enters the fitting and the pin. I ordered replacement hoses for both sides, they both have that larger angle where the pin is almost opposite to where the hose enters. I think I'm going to have to just go to a local parts store and visually check them. The reason I ordered on ebay is that I live in New Zealand and local parts are around triple the price compared to online. Even with shipping costs I normally end up saving 50%. However then of course I've got much bigger hassles when the part is wrong :-( Anyway thanks for your comments.
