Welcome to NPOC,

If you paid before seeing the Car, you have more rights under the Distance Selling Rules than you would if you bought in the traditional way.

This is the one that would concern me
Nearside Rear Suspension component mounting prescribed area excessively damaged significantly reducing structural strength Floor pan (5.3.6 (a) (i))
Did your Garage tell you what the damage is. Is it repairable?
Concerning that the Offside is also reported as damaged.

Had you been taking the Car for MOT after a Year of use, the rest of the Failures and Advisories do not seem too unexpected for the age of the Car.
Not reasonable considering it was MOT'd 500 Miles ago

The Corrosion to the Suspension Parts likely just to be Surface and common on older Cars.

Good Luck with it

Hi and welcome to the forumHandshake
Sorry to hear your woes though. some great advice coming in.
I'm unclear weather this is a private sale with a bought warranty or from a dealer, if the latter I would tend to take it up direct with them, if no satisfaction trading standards should be able to help. I tend to find unless the warranty is the very top end most MOT items are not covered.
As for the garage doing he MOT when not asked, personally I would be happy with the money back on the cost of the MOT and relieved I'm not driving it in that condition.

Good luck.

by the looks of things, he has bought this not from a private seller, but a dealer, and said dealer just happens to be down the road from original MOT place, who somehow passed this, so agreed, he should be in touch with them, to to sort something out, or trading standards should be involved..
