Good Morning everyone.
I'm new to this forum, so please be gentle..LOL
I had the pleasure of running a Primera GT as a company car (1998 -1999), a 5 dr in black. It was one of the best underated cars ive ever had. Much more discrete than the accord type r which replaced it.
I have recently changed jobs and am now in the fortunate position to rekindle my love affair with track days.
I have done all the cosworth/ford/rs things in the past and found the expenditure required just to keep on top of the maintenance quite frightening.
I'm considering a standard Primera eGT or GT to use as a track car. Just stripped out, 2 x competition seats, some uprated suspension & pads and away we go.
Would this type of set up be suitable for regular track work? Has anyone got any experience of trackdays with a primera?
Cheers
Matt

Welcome to the club
Sounds like a cool project, I think you'd want to uprate the brakes fully though rather than just pads and probably at least change the exhaust and let things breathe easily for the track. They're ideal for the track really, you'll get many different opinions on whether you should use an eGT or a GT though and also whether to go hatch or saloon. Personally, I'd go saloon everytime, I prefer the look and know they perform well because of BTCC.
The previous owner of my car used to take it out on knockhill a lot and couldn't praise it highly enough except for needing more power. The handling was incredible and could be thrown around corners but just not enough oomph on the long straights. It ran with good engine mods, tein coilovers and big brembo brakes, not stripped out or anything though. There's a video of it kicking around somewhere.
I'd take GT Saloon personally but that's just me.

There was a chap on here who documented getting his P11 GT Hatch ready for track action and he took it to the nurburgring. Have a search.
Oh and hello and welcome
