Band A is just minimum wage - well, slightly above, £5.79ph. We're B&Q Warrington, but there's a smaller one called B&Q Milner Street near to Bank Quay station and KwikFit. |

Just managed to get the odd quotes back up that I was getting yesterday.
£1993.18 for TPTF, in my name, starting on the 10th (when I turn 18). So I'll go to view it on Monday, get all the docs sorted, and pay the guy the rest of the money if it's as described ( ). Then I'll just take the V5, MOT cert and get my insurance sorted so that I can get a new tax disc for it, then collect on the 10th. |

Will the guy be OK with that though - I mean is he gonna want the car kicking around with no tax for a fortnight?
I'd get your parents to drive it back to your house and park it on drive for the time till you want to get insurance for it.
You will normally find that if your parents are insured to drive their own car, they can drive anyone else's car third party only with their consent.

Just checked my emails and the guys says that's fine. It's within 14 days so he doesn't have to declare it SORN and it's on his drive. He hasn't got insurance on it so.
I would have thought the car needs to be insured by someone else for my parents to be able to drive the car with the owners consent... |

You could be right on that one - I'm not dead cert on it though.
Well, the best things come to those who wait, and what an 18th Birthday pressie - a new car (well new to you anyway)
You gonna go down and see it soon then and give him the rest of the money?

Yeah, on Monday. He just said to give him a ring on Sunday to let him know around what time and stuff.
Doing a bit of my Pass Plus with my old driving instructor tomorrow and getting the rest done next week so I can get the £250-300 discount straight away on the Primera. £1787.14 TPFT. ![]() |

Hmm. Just rang the guy today to confirm going to view it tomorrow. He says he's still on his boat, says he's going to get his brother to sort it out, etc etc. Then he tells me that car is 8 miles away from Northwich.
Not got a good feeling about this. Would I be alright to get my deposit back through PayPal? |
