Hi all,
Ages ago I bought a donor car for parts. Track used P11 GT with a fair few aftermarket bits on it. After multiple failed attempts to hire a mechanic to dismantle the car for parts, with the lock down in place, I decided to go and do the work myself. I by no means a mechanic, but I've managed to salvage a lot of useful parts so really happy. The mystery is, I dont think this donor car has the same engine as mine. It is a SR20DE. But, this one had side feed injectors and fuel rail. Mine is top feed. The intake manifold has an extra bolt for the fuel rail compared to mine. As I need the fuel rail for uprated injectors, I removed also remove the intake manifold just in case I need that too. The biggest mystery is the oil filter is underneath the intake manifold. Of all P11 SR20 engines I've seen, they are always on the left top side. Is this engine out of a silvia? If thats the case, what camshafts will be in this engine. Research seems to suggest it could be non roller rocker cams in silvias. Does that mean I cant use them? Thanks in advance

earlier p11 had different injector rail and loom . Also non gt engine doesn’t have the cooler so oil filter fits on rear of block so to speak .

Oh I didn't know that. Happy to take pics tomorrow but mystery may have already been answered.
Believe the donor car is supposed to be a GT. Were the cams on the non GT engine RR still? |

lol...won't be from a Silvia, as Grim mentioned earlier P11, and as I mentioned in your other thread, P11s cam with both Side and Top feed, depends on when it was made etc...

Probably an SR20De from 131hp P11, which indeed has no oil/water-heat exchanger, but a normal oil filter housing with the filter pointing to the firewall. A P10/N14 engine has small "studs" to place the valve cover on, the P11/N15 uses bolts.
P11 and P11 GT use same roller-rocker setup, but the GT has "wilder" cams, hence making some more power. The camshafts could only be identified by measuring i think. Just show us some pictures of the engine, than it will be easy to identify. |

Hehe. Thought I struck gold with the fuel rail. Really hoping this is RR engine. Apparently the donor car had some high lift aftermarket cams that I'm hoping to put in mine. Currently mining for info everywhere to try and find out how things work and how to remove bits. Cams is the scariest thing for me atm.
Hope these work : https://www.dropbox.com/s/eqni6a6u5bbvygc/Photo%2008-04-2020%2C%2018%2022%2020.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/9qyga8amxfqvnga/Photo%2008-04-2020%2C%2018%2022%2029.jpg?dl=0 |

Fantastic. I'm planning to get the cam cover off once delivery comes for storage bags for the cam bits. Can take further pics then. Has made my day thinking these are rocker roller. Thanks everyone for the help 👍
