Hi, I drive a 2005 Nissan Primera P12, an 1.8 petrol engined car retrofitted (not by me) with a 1.6 petrol engine. It has started to show yellow engine warning light, however the engine is running smoothly and the temp is normal. I have a suspect: I have been running the car with very little fuel in the tank and, scouring the internet, found that running out of fuel or leaving the fuel filling cap not properly fastened can make the ECU think that there's a problem with fuel delivery. Also, I now know that the car needs multiple error free start-stop cycles before the warning clears. Am I homing in on the right target?

Hi and welcome to the forum
![]() The obvious thing to do is get the code read, if you don't have access to a reader you can do it manually http://www.npoc.co.uk/forum/p12-all-engines-read-reset-ecu-fuel-pump_topic54932.html when you do it
correctly just count the flashes of the light it will give a repeating sequence
of four digits, 10 flashes representing zero |

The code I'm getting is 0304 which is cylinder 4 misfire. Possible causes to that code are very familiar ![]() MOG
