Hi! I own an s-reg P11 GT. It has done about 100k miles.
Recently, I started to hear a tappet noise which varied depending on throttle [neutral made most noise] and cornering.
The oil was changed less than a year ago and I don't do much milage.
Please do you have any suggestions I could try. Thanks.
Ken.

Could be a number of things , Is the noise from the engine? If it is I guess you’ve checked the oil level is correct?

Yes bro. Thanks for answering. It does now. To begin with that is what I thought it was. It sounds like the tappets are rattling.
Topped it up with 500mls 10W40. The noise continues.

I can’t say without hearing it it’s difficult to diagnose. But I suspect timing chain rattle ! Best to get it diagnosed by a garage or a local member who’s familiar with sr20 engine if you have local to you.
