hi dave, welcome along...im not really into modding my prim but there are plenty who are so you're answer will come soon!

best option though would be to get a decat pipe...then when it comes to mot time just bolt the cat back in

nah it shouldn't be too bad, do you have plans for a new header aswell? they do increase the sound a lot

dont forget the primera has 2 cats so dont worry about emmisions and all that crap!

theres loads on here who have done cat back and header, the noise is certainly not unbearable, bit of a drone between 2500 and 3500 rpm...but you just speed up over it!

i do know the nissan cat is pretty good and you wont gain much from a performance one...best is to remove it completely

welcome to NPOC...

removing the cat isnt going to give you huge increases in power.... you may get 1bhp and a bit more torque... thats it

and... if you do remove it, be prepaired to fail your MOT... mine failed every time... luckily enough the machine broke during the test.... lol

for the costs and hassles when it comes to MOT times i wouldnt bother de-catting... I wouldnt go for a sports cat either as the Primera cat is pretty good anyway and not very restrictive... its the manifolds that hold the secret to power release

custom made exhausts the likes of powerflow etc can be tuned to the owners specific setting too... if you want balls out raspy, pop and bang on downshift or just a mellow deep burble only noticeable after you hit 4k then they can do that too...

so you could get a freeflowing manifold and then custom tune an exhaust system to keep the noise down.

Add more resonator boxes to keep the noise down, but as been said the Nissan cat is a good one anyway.

you may need to modify the arches slightly on the P10 to accept 18" wheels depending on what offset of wheel you buy

welcome to npoc m8. as long as u've got a decent rear silencer, it shouldn't be too loud, unlike me. the only box on mine's a cherry bomb with a 5" tailpipe and that's as subtle as a brick!! Big%20smile
