Hi folks, 

I have just located an oil leak from my head gasket, on phoning my local garage (that does my mot's and I trust not to gouge me) Have just informed me that its so rare to change one that they dont have the specialist tools to do it. Has anyone had any experience of replacing a head gasket on their P12? I am by no means a mechanic but if I cant get it done by a garage I will have to have a go myself so advice?

What? are you sure you went to a garage? never heard so much twaddle. Give a few garages a ring for a quote. They will be falling over themselves for the business.

Oh it was definitely a garage or my last 6 MOT's were not legal lol I have to admit it sounded strange to me too. What kind of garage cant do a head gasket? Got calls out to a couple of garages to try to get a price but not looking forward to them :-(
