Hello,

I'm the new owner of a Nissan Primera P10 dated 1992.
The car has a lot of issues but I will take care of her!
I'm trying to install new lamp all over the car. I've already installed new lamps in the tachimeter, and I'd like to install new lamp also in the hazard, defogger and rear fog switches. Maybe I'll consider to use the led version.

The lamp are in T3 packaging but cannot retrieve anywhere the right colors.
At this link

I've found the codes of every lamp, but no clue of the original color of each one.
Can you please report che colors that you see when illumination and indicator are on?
Maybe a photo? (illumination only + a photo indicator only)

Thank you so much!

In PH.I P10 like yours all these bulbs are replaceable.

Rear fog and defogger indicator are in amber colour, hazard in red. The illumination is always in white.

All the bulbs are old type ones, around 3000K colour and almost always covered by a "condom" in white or blue. The switch itself has coloured plastic too.

Take the switches out and undo the bulbs, they are like a bolt at the top of it.

Thank you very much!
I've found the old one, but someone switched them in random order. Some of them have a "condom" of these colors: blue, yellow, white. Someone have no color. Did not found no red "condom" for the hazard.

The switches are colored by their own, so cannot understand if the condom has to be colored, or not.
For example, the tachometer has blue condom to make the light appear white, instead of yellowish. So maybe I'll switch to the led version (loosing the dimmer functionality). The blue condom has the same function also in the switches? The green light on the doors, can be replaced by 12v white led too.
Returning to the body switches th rear defogger INDICATOR, and hazard INDICATOR share the same part# 2516989905 but cannot understand what color should be.

Because cannot find a bulb replacement I'm thinking to source the led versions from aliexpress, but which color to use?

Can you help me to map them correctly?

Switch rear defogger
13 2516989912 ILLUMINATION -> white
10 2516989905 INDICATOR -> yellow?

Switch hazard
1 25169F9900 ILLUMINATION -> white
5 2516989905 INDICATION -> red? white?

Switch fog lamp
24 25169F9901 ILLUMINATION -> white
23 25169F9902 INDICATOR -> white? yellow?

Ok

Why don't you take out the bulbs and look the colour?

I don't know another way to do it.

As I said, someone before me messed with the lamp order.
But thank you I will try the lamps colors until obtaining the color you reported before.

I'll post a picture when done!

Thank you

Better question is what color do you want them to be?  I wanted amber.

Looking good, Col.

Replace the full car bulb switches must be a pain in the arse.

Do you know how these micro bulbs are named? Are available plug&play leds?

I made my own with grain of wheat bulbs.  I don't like LED.

The micro lamps in the switch are in T3 package. Just tried and work very good.

In the tachometer are used w5w with a blue "condom" to make they appear white, so the direct replacement is a white w5w led.

I removed the leds because the w5w obtained are poor quality and because I lost the dimming functionality. Also the led had a projection cone too narrow resulting in a poor lighting. I'll try again with a better quality leds.

Also, the green light of the windows switch, can be replaced with a 12v white led.

I'll post a picture once done

In the EuDM early specs, the gauge cluster w5w bulbs have not the condom. Each" white " w5w bulb had a big blue plastic cover.

I prefer this early method

Yesterday I spent some time on internals and unmounted the central console switches to install new bulbs

https://ibb.co/nRFk5Tz" rel="nofollow"> https://ibb.co/WVQNm7B" rel="nofollow">

As you can see the bulbs have a blue cap to make a white light, so a led replacement will be easy. Just pay attention to the polarity

To pray open the switches it is enough to enlarge the borders while someone pulls the cables

Before installing the leds, check the polarity of the pins, in order to install them correctly.
in one group: black wire = negative; gray/brown wire = positive
in the other group: yellow wire = negative; green wire = positive
the right polarization che be found after having noticed that the thicker wire is the positive, the thinner is the negative. Test before remount them all!

https://ibb.co/C7RShpj" rel="nofollow"> https://ibb.co/s1KM6gj" rel="nofollow"> https://ibb.co/Dr8djcf" rel="nofollow">

The first picture has the polarity i've detected.
The second is the same picture without the polarity.
The third is the original status with light bulbs and blue cap to make a white light.
The yellow colored led, will produce white light once powered.

About the result: it is really good but I'm not totally satisfied.
Let me explain. The 12v white leds, in realty are almost imperceptibly bluish/purple, really really really almost imperceptibly. The door lock button has a thicker white window making it appear neutral white.
I've ordered another type of 12v white led from china, and once delivered I'll test them.

Tomorrow I'll take a picture of the results once mounted in the car.

-----
I've unmounted the front seats, removed the coating, washed and I'll remount them also tomorrow. How dirty were them! I'll take some picture for you ;)

Also, I've done some testing on the hazard, fog and defogger switches, and all the light can be replaced with a white led, because the color is produced by the internal filter in the switch.
Only the hazard switch need some extra care because one light should be lighter, otherwise the red blinking is not evident (almost stati red color). I'm testing some other solution and I'll post my final setup with the results.

P.S.
I found an auction in ebay of a spanish car wracker of an engine with the compressor bracket but cannot convince them to sell only this part :( I've called 40+ car wracker in my country but cannot sort this bracket

Sorry, I was a little busy working on the interior. I've cleaned the front seat clothing and I'm renewing the roof.
About the lamps, attached you can find some picture where can be seen the bluish color I was refering to! I'm waiting the new white LEDs to make a comparison. As you can see the light are much brighter than the stock lamps. Also I've to check the voltage is not floating above the 12v, otherwise I'll mod the circuit to lower the voltage with an adjustable regulator (maybe a simple lm317 with a 10k potentiometer to a lower voltage to match the old luminosity? Or a 7808? A simple resistor/potentiometer? I've to investigate...)

Today has arrived a new series of LEDs in the T3 packages. The old ones are the White plastic, and the new one in black plastic.
https://ibb.co/Xb4pmt9" rel="nofollow">

The old one are much brighter and are a little bit purple (view my old photos)
New new one are neutral white and less brighter.

Here you can see the new leds installed
https://ibb.co/RCM0D7C" rel="nofollow">

Here you can see the much brighter white led in the defogger switch (on the left), and the new less brighter in the hazard and fog lamp switches. Maybe the photo does not make evident the difference, but the old one is disturbing when driving in the night.
https://ibb.co/q1wzmKk" rel="nofollow">

The defogger indicator can be both a white or yellow (appear orange when powered on) led, because the indicator is colored internally.
The hazard, should have the illumination attenuated, in order to have the indicator brighter when blinking. Also in this case the led of both the illumination and the indicator could be red or white because the switch is internally colored.
The fog lamp indicator must be yellow (appear orange when powered on) because the indicator isn't colored internally.

In the end I'm not really satisfied with the new led, because the light is directed to the up part of the switch and is not homogeneously illuminated but it's much better.

Tomorrow I'll install them also in the central tunnel. As said the light is so bright to be disturbing during the night driving.

Remember, pics of everything!

Yesterday a mate who is preparing his eGT as a track day car only, gave me a set of Central console switches.

The results appear to be good with the latest LEDs. If you want I can send here or in a private message the AliExpress auction where I bought the T3 LEDs.

Can I ask you a photo of the hazard switch blinking with the lights on?

OK I will try to take a pic but dude, it is clearly noticeable how the amount of light increases over the nightlight bulb, a lot.

Thank you.
I was concerned by the light in the hazard coming from the right, and the blinking from the left, but if I'm not wrong I can see it's the stock behavior, so I can confirm that the second batch of leds (the black one in my previous post) are the right replacement for the bulbs. The amount of light appera to be the same and the light is neutral white.

The console leds (or lamps) uses the T3 socket. These one are ok to me: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32975075221.html
Buy the white ones and the yellow ones (appear orange when powered on, to be used in the defogger and the fog lamp indicator).
Only the hazard backlight needs to be somehow lowered in intensity, as the original that has a white cap mounted on to reduce brightness. I think could be used a much higher smd resistor in the led pcb, or used a "cap" to reduce the brightness. I'll try a solution in the next days

also, for the central console near the handbrake, I've soldered the new set of leds, and they are neutral white and more comfortable. The old ones were where a little purple and too much bright, almost disturbing during night driving.
I've used as donor the T5 white leds that are a little bigger and brighter than the ones in the T3 format. In the door lock button I had to use the smaller led taken from a donor T3 led because there was not enough space to mount it without any mods.

I'll try them in the next days and finally I'll decide if remain to use the more powerful led from T5 or switch to the smaller used in the T3 (less brighter).

As I can understand, originally the lights where barely visible, can you confirm? Can you make any photo of the central console leds to compare the results?

I'm programming to replace also the tachometer bulbs with leds, and the other backlight in the central console and everywhere there is a bulb. I'll take you updated with the results.

Thank you!

The oem lights are clearly visible...indeed they are.

I dont have any led fitted, every switch has oem bulb and I have not replaced any switch bulb in 29 years

Mine where almost all blown up. So instead to replace them with bulbs, hard to be sourced, I'm trying the leds.
